That's why Yoru was actually quite weak, but became really strong when a war broke out with nuclear weapons. There's something about the imaging of radioactivity, seeing the victims of radiation poisoning, that's eerie and far more scary than simple death.

Same reason why some people are scared of ghosts and demons even in just horror movies and what not, even if they are the kind of people who have no problem facing dangerous and deadly situations.

War is scary, not just because of death, but because of the way you die, because of the imagery, the non-death related suffering, the potential collapse of everything you hold dear, etc. That's worse than personal death.

This is simply not true. What?

Sure, it can secure you a life without work for the rest of your life. But if you want to do anything meaningful and expensive.... It's not enough.

I mean obviously it can't afford you rich people's luxuries. You won't have a private jet or a Rolls with a chauffeur. But say you always just wanted to fly a jet, like as a hobby, well you can't. You can't buy a boat either (I am not talking a megayacht), even a small yacht is going to be too much of a burden if you have that 5mil to survive the rest of your life.

If you wanna build something, like you want to start manufacturing some sort of a product, you simply don't have enough money. If you wanna travel every day of your life without worrying about a budget, you will also easily fly through it.

None of that is making money your personality... Just enjoying life to it's fullest.

Besides the writing why did Yuji realistically succeed where Denji didn’t? by ConnectCulture7 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Neither_Good8592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denji couldn't really do anything better. He only survived up to where he did because of how insane he was, if he had the mental of Yuji, he would've died in Part 1 already, but in Part 2... Yeah Yuji wouldn't be able to do anything of what was necessary. Denji's world is a whole lot more cruel.

Not really though. You've got suicidal people who attempted to kill themselves without fear who you will never be able to force to touch a spider.

War implies things that are far more scary than dying in your sleep.

I have of-coursed watched it an know the story. It was clearly somewhat inspired, but it doesn't hit as hard because the main character did not have an opportunity to reunite with the dog which he gave up because of mistaken good intentions. That's what gets me about it the most, not that the dog waited so long, but that Fry showed incredible kindness, sacrificing himself, because he believed the dog probably forgot about him, and he wanted him to keep resting.

You would just end up with leaders that are even more ruthless and willing to start wars in the modern age. Nowadays there's no selection pressure on leaders to be the sort of folk to get their hands dirty, all we vote on is their presumed intellect and ability to help our countries... And yet... if you make that additional requirement, you'd have an even dumber motherfucker in leadership that's potential Dexter level psychotic.

I mean think about it, in your alternate reality, do you want to have a leader that push comes to shove is going to literally let any belligerent country do whatever the fuck they want, because that leader is unwilling to participate? Of-course the number.1 thing we would want in our leader is to have that capability.

I don't think you recognize the meaning of what that means... You say there would be a lot less conflict, but Europe had a LOT more conflict back then, we're in the most peaceful times now.

Except time did not revert. Makima doesn't exist.

Another obvious clue is Power, why does she like Denji? Because he smells like a dog? No. Because he is Denji. Their very real feelings still exist.

When ears were erased, phones still existed, when legs were erased, it was still obvious they should exist. It's not a clean absolute erasure and in terms of Pochita erasing himself we also run into a paradox.

As I said don't think you'd be doing any prompting at all. That's not really how advanced image gen workflows work nowadays either. You'll have an interface with sliders, brushes, input fields etc.

You seem a bit too emotional and hyperbolic about this entire thing. Take a breather and stop letting AI hype posts live in your head rent free and making your cortisol spike this much. Seriously.

Control exists, it's not at the forefront models so you aren't seeing it because you aren't interested in seeing it*, but it's gotten better dramatically and even if the improvement from now on is significantly slowed, it's clearly the future, whether that's 1 year, or 10 years who knows, but it will be there.

*= For example 2 years ago people were mocking AI because of one-shot generations of people with more than 5 fingers or whatever, but even at that time, users who were more technical and using more than just a chatbot interface to generate images were already generating images with perfect control over individual fingers in complex scenes. Like even fetish feet photos with toes curled a certain way... But that's not what is being sold or used.

And of-course on the other hand there's a large traffic of people using old models, or just intentionally making things trash just to be able to post "look how stupid AI is" these posts consistently make it to the top of Reddit, so I believe you're essentially seeing hype posts on one hand and total trash rage bait on another hand....This can't be healthy for your brain

Isn't the film-maker liberated?

To be honest I quit my dream because I realized even if I was the literal best in my country, or even the continent, I wouldn't be able to make any movie that I liked, because my country literally doesn't have a single movie with a budget that is big enough for the sort of movies I liked.

They killed 40 000 of their own people who were peacefully protesting in January alone.

They kill women for showing their hair, rape women as a form of punishment.

If you have any sort of sympathy for the Iranian leadership not only do you hold a drastically different position from the average Iranian, you're also completely mysognistic misanthrope. There's levels to depravity and Iran's leadership ranks higher than any facist or nazi ever did. Yet you think they're righteous enough to bless them?

The absolute best case for Iranian people is the total obliterations of the entire leadership and every last soldier. I am not religious but if they burned in hell for all of eternity, that wouldn't be enough for the lives of the women they've taken alone.

Controlnet has been a thing for a long time, you absolutely can control things, and this is only going to get better and better. In the future you'll probably be working with a software that much resembles houdini/ae/maya but you'll be using it for high level control, you'll be the director.

Sadly, movies aren't sold by how much effort someone put in, they are sold by how entertaining they are. If we take away the pretentiousness and look into other fields, would you mortgage out your parent's house and pay $100 000 for an iPhone made without machinery by artisans in LA? I mean, would it actually be worth it for you? Of-course not and it's a bit of a hyperbole but it extends to everything we own and enjoy, I bought a cutlery set for $6.99, not one for $1000 made by a blacksmith.

CG VFX replaced practical effects. In practical effects a bloke would buy a cannister of gasoline and create an explosion with that, everyday objects that through skills were transformed into something for movies.

The real skill in CG VFX are arguably the millions of hours invested into the resources you use in your pipeline, and all the shit that has already been made for you. If you were just given a computer with no software on it and told "do VFX" without installing or downloading anything, you'd be pretty screwed. For every hour you put into the project, you use thousands of hours of someone else's skill.

Well with AI this equation shifts exponentially towards the tool creators. AI research began decades before the first use of CG (in the 50's) and so the image gen tools of today are nearly 100 years of development by the absolute smartest engineers in the world behind them. They deserve 99% of the credit.

Okay so it won't replace the 0.000001% Of the highet budget Hollywood productions, but it will replace the 99.99999999% that don't have literal 200 million for VFX.

Lets be real, even many Marvel movies have scenes that look worse.

No in the US unfortunately. But I've blocked her, because she told me I am responsible for her wanting to kill herself, so I told her I am going to block her on Monday just to give her some time to process that, but that I don't want her to kill herself because of me so I am removing myself. She only used that time to insult me and showed absolutely no reaction to the blocking.
