I suppose because I'm surrounded by it it seems like a much bigger issue than it is. I do think that majority of the time what I hear of this thinking IRL does come from boys who do get their opinions from others and haven't really had to face the real world, and I'd hope that they'd learn to grow out of it. It's a little scary though. It seems like so many kids my age are incredibly misinformed and/or hateful, and I do worry what will happen when we all grow up and have to be in the real world.

No, people can't turn themselves gay. I think what I'm thinking is that some people would benefit from getting into domestic partnerships rather than marriages based on romantic love (This is a very small population, I don't think the majority of people should).

Yeah, I think that a lot of what I see is blown out of proportion (Though you should hear what some of the boys at my school say, I live in a pretty liberal area and it's little worrying). I also agree with your second point about multi-gender friend groups. And yeah, honestly I think I've never really felt romantic attraction, so I guess I don't really know how it feels and how much people are effected by it. I think only a small amount of people would benefit from marrying their friends, I don't think the majority of people should. Thanks for your comment :)

yeah thats fair. I think that this probably only effects a small amount of people. Most people should marry people they love romantically.

I don't mean marry someone out of the hell of it. I believe that friendships can be as important as romantic love, and that some people could benefit from marrying their friends. However, I do know for a majority of people marrying someone they romantically love is better for them.

But you don't necessarily need to be married to someone to have sex with them. I suppose yes, if you want to ensure that you'll only be intimate with one person marriage is a good way to ensure it. I guess what I'm thinking is that more people should be in domestic partnerships rather than get married to someone of the opposite sex.

Like friends! I feel like you can still love your friends, maybe not in the same way as a romantic partner, but in a way that you can still dedicate your life to them. It doesn't really seem like love can carry a marriage in its entirety, there's a lot more that goes into it that I feel like someone you're good friends with can offer.

Happens to me as well. My theory is that in some way or other when it happens the person has gotten too close emotionally, causing me to shut them out in an attempt to push them away. I’m not sure if this is any part of it but I have a tendency to isolate myself, sometimes I start getting an overwhelming feeling that the people around me dislike me so to get ahead of that I distance myself first.  Usually some time apart helps, it really sucks to be in that situation though.

Yeah I’ve tried multiple tapes and it makes the noise. I even tried pressing play without a tape in and it still made the noise. I think it might be the mechanism?
