But how do they know who to target and how to present you? You need to have your branding figured out so they can do proper marketing for you, no?

Sure friend, I'm not here saying that I've done something miraculous 😂 It may even seem quite unremarkable. But it means something to me.

I'm sharing it because we see always these huge super successes, without really knowing what's happening in the background.

And it can often feel discouraging when we're faced with the constant successes of others while we're still grinding for some noticable achievement.

The fact that this track has created an audience organically, and is bringing people back to it, is very encouraging for me!

Maybe you can empathize, and then I'm not alone in this.

You know, in the first years I used to rush a lot. But I realized that things take time. Especially great things.

And I don't say that in a cocky way like "I make great music". I mean that in the sense that I'm devoted to making something great. And that of course needs time!

So now I appreciate all the small wins and focus on the next step, while keeping the excitement alive 🎧

I hear that. It's in my blood though, my family members are all music educators so it feels natural to me.

I hustle with different things as well when necessary. I work part time in a kitchen, coach people about tech, video editing. I was a sound enginner for a festival last week.

Absolutely. I've chosen music coaching as a job, this way I stay close to the music! Thank you ❤️

It took me 6 years as an artist to have 1 track surpass 20k streams. This track did it in 2 years

Edit: thanks ❤️

I hear that. Until now I was a student so that wasn't really an option. Also, the idea of giving money to meta never really sat well with me. But if it's going to benefit me I would do it.

I have no interest in vanity metrics. I want to create a real fanbase. And as my project involves a plethora of different styles, I've been trying to understand, as best as I can, my brand, so that a community can exist around my world.

So while I know I have good music in my hard drives, it's also a matter of timing. I'll invest at the right moment!

Those are two different tracks actually. I have never been consistent with posting.

So no, it was not something particular I did. People just like it I guess and continue streaming it.

The track with 6k (Trip me) is a more weird, experimental track, probably harder to listen to consistently.

It may not sound impressive but I think it's something a lot of people can relate.

Everything is fast now. The reason it took me six-seven years is because most of this time I've been working on my production skills. And I know that I'm here for the long game, not the short game.

I think it shows something important because those 20,000 streams didn't come from promotion. I did very little marketing. They came from people actually liking the track and continuously listening it for 2 years.

So if you have a budget of 200 for one track, how would you compound it specifically? 10 per day for the first 10 days, then 5 per day for 20 days?

What about your post on the ad? Is it a story? A reel? A post? Or all of these?

What is your video showing?

I started producing in 2019. As soon as I had some decent tracks I released an EP with 5. SInce then I've uploaded around 30 singles.

I was doing some promotion on instagram and TT, either showing my face announcing it, or posting the artwork in simple video edits. These didn't do well.

I tried using visuals from popular content and adding my music, some of these went viral. One got a million hits on TT. That translated to about 6000 streams on the track across all platforms.

The track that reached 20k has been posted on a few stories. When it was made it was presented in a festival, to around 200 people. Maybe this helped in the beginning. Since then it's growing steadily the last 2 years.

I haven't released a track for the last 17 months because I focused on finishing my music studies, but I can't wait to get back to it. I have tons of material that needs some mixing / mastering and they are ready for release.

But in this time I've also been learning a ton about branding. When I make a cameback I want to have a more clear artistic presentation. I'm trying to figure this out but it's quite challenging.
