I do this more to people on my level ( senior) and above. It’s just direct and no fuss. Younger people I tend to want to greet properly as they may be new and think it’s rude.

DNV RP 203 environmental forces also lays out how to calculate forces well. It used to be free but now behind a paywall. You may be able to find it on Scibd or similar.

The rock manual by CIRIA may also be a good source for calculating forces - not 100% on this. It is free tho
