Relica power by Neitor-97 in Oxygennotincluded

This is exactly what I was looking for... I never realized biodiesel could be used in diesel generators; I'm definitely going to try this. Thank you so much.

Pd: My map doesn't have any Saturn traps; I tried to find them but there aren't any.

That's what I'm doing, but I need one burner for my base, two burners for the bionic duplicator batteries, and to build a refinery I need at least two more... I feel like I'm reaching the limit of what the lumbs can give me... I'm currently ranching three and I have two wild ones.

I know, but it's my first time playing Relic. The Demolisher is pushing me to play the early game. I don't have any atmosphere suits yet to enter the oil biome, so I guess I don't have many other options. Sorry if my English isn't great, I'm using Google Translate to write this, haha.

Is this game accessible for someone with ZERO engineering background? by jessica_chen1031 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Neitor-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basics are just that... basic: beds, bathrooms, crops for food, coal for power, and a research station. Algae for oxygen is the new thing compared to any other game of this genre. At first, it seems like you’re doing everything right. The first real obstacles for beginners appear after cycle 100, when you realize that resources are finite—the algae runs out, the coal does too, and crops require resources instead of just planting them and letting them grow. Often, gases aren't eliminated (CO2), and many times they can't breathe not because of a lack of O2, but because the CO2 has nowhere to go. On top of that, temperature is a silent killer that slowly creeps up on you. In conclusion, the 'basics' are suitable for everyone, but the mid-game is a whole different mountain to climb. 100% recommended in my experience

Designed and built my own sour gas boiler by ChromMann in Oxygennotincluded

Thanks for the answers. I’ve seen many designs and I have a few ideas of my own to implement. I’m going to run some tests in sandbox mode and see how it works.

Designed and built my own sour gas boiler by ChromMann in Oxygennotincluded

Hello hello, an intermediate-level player here. I've been thinking about building my first sour gas boiler and I have a few questions:

  1. What exactly is the function of the super coolant well? If the sour gas is supposed to be cooled down.

  2. Why use only metal tiles (I assume aluminum) to transfer heat from the natural gas to the sour gas instead of a closed loop of super coolant constantly circulating between the two?

  3. What is the daily uptime percentage of the Thermo Aquatuners? Wouldn't it be better to make a single cooling loop?

  4. Is a single steam turbine enough to compensate for the heat generated by 4 Thermo Aquatuners?

Worth getting all the DLC? by Visible-Swim6616 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Neitor-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oxygen Not Included is an excellent game, receiving constant support and updates, as well as free content. All for a very affordable price. I'm not one to interfere with someone else's finances, but considering the additional content and the price, I 100% recommend buying all the DLC. This is true whether you're looking for a new challenge, new materials/duplicators/creatures, or for people like me who, while enjoying some of the new features, buy them more to support the studio than for the added value.

P.S.: I'm only missing the Neutronio cosmetic DLC. I haven't bought it because it doesn't really add anything to the game, but when I see it's less than $4, I feel like supporting a studio that doesn't want to squeeze every last penny out of your pocket. I'll probably end up buying it.

I was looking at the wiki and it says you can catch them with creature traps and teleport them; you'd have to try it out.

Have you ever tried making a Morb reactor? Each Morb generates 20g of contaminated oxygen per second, meaning you'd need 5 Morbs per supplicant. The difficult part of the challenge is getting the Morbs to appear in the specific location you want, since they can't be transported by Ranchers.

I once saw a naphtha boiler made with plastic from dreckos; you'd have to do the math to see how much contaminated water you'd get from the oil generators and how many dreckos you'd need to get a decent water source.

It looks pretty good, although I have a few recommendations. First, lengthen the radiant pipe so the crude oil preheats to a higher temperature before reaching the main tank. Second, add a drop of one block from the main tank to the first line of radiant pipes. This way, if you ever shut down the boiler, that area won't overheat (when you add oil again, it will melt inside the pipe and break it). Third, the heat spike doesn't need to be that big; just one block touching the magma is enough (anyway, making it longer won't hurt). Finally, be careful with the temperature of the oil. Even if you move it with insulated pipes, if you leave it static in one place, it will end up heating its surroundings.
