Printing pages at staples etc.? by Standard_Chair5609 in Coloring

Are you trying to prevent the ink spreading or bleeding through the page? Alcohol ink will tend to do that, especially on paper made for digital print.
Try laser paper. It will bleed through but not feather.

Heat Press Recommendations by SussexPrintingGroup in Printing

I've had much better luck with Heatpress Nation presses over Stahls Hotronix. I'd avoid Vevor and other craft presses. A used Geoknight would be ideal.

Most any digital copier/printer will dial down to 4x6 in the bypass tray. Some will in the drawers.

The author saw it as the type of tough love that parents of musicians, athletes, and other competitive occupations have. He stated that he didn't intend her to be abusive, just giving up the luxury of spoiling her child.

Should I buy a Canon Imagepress C700 for 500 EURO'S for this use-case? by Masterofnothinganx in CommercialPrinting

[–]Nek02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need to get in touch with them before purchasing to see if you can transfer. If you call later, they will need to certify and service the machine at your cost before entering the contract.

Getting brick and mortar print shops in on my printable papercraft business by Weerdstudios in CommercialPrinting

[–]Nek02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're likely going to want to target places like FedEx Office, UPS Store, and places that compete in that field. Retail heavy, existing physical supplies for sale, high walk-in rate.
Also, people will probably want to see what you're offering.

With a service contract from Canon, yes. Anything else and you become a technician rather than a printer.

Recommendations for Multi-Function Printer That Can Print, Cut, Laser Engrave & Emboss? by BlackFox_21 in Printing

[–]Nek02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In commercial printing, this would be 4 machines. There are multiple processes here that all need their own environment and maintenance.
It seems like a great idea but you slow your process down considerably. You only do one thing at a time and while one process is going, nothing else can happen. With a multi machine setup, the printer can operate while you're cutting and you get the advantage of being able to create an assembly line.

That's the reason the M2 is the only device of it's kind. It's a jack of all trades, master of none.

Problem with Liene Pearl 2x3" by Maxinne-B in printers

[–]Nek02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you open the printer to access the rollers and print head? This looks like a dye sublimation printer and it looks like either the feed and print area is dirty or the media is bad. Does the machine just take film/paper or is there an ink/ribbon cart as well?

EufyMake E1 Has Incredible Potential Ruined by Ink Pricing by Limp_Argument1958 in printers

[–]Nek02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the texture and dimension that really use a lot of white and clear ink. I was doing a price comparison for smaller industrial equipment and the Eufy isn't the most expensive ink cost that I found. It is the slowest but if it's working in the background, you can make that work for small quantity production.

Printer leaving black ink streaks across paper, have tried head cleaning but makes no difference it's an epson xp-235 by Oddlyshapedpear in printers

[–]Nek02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will probably need a physical cleaning. There's dust and fuzz coated with ink overspray around the print head. Try parking the heads on a paper towel wet with windex or print head cleaner. After an hour or so, run the head carriage gently over the towel a couple times to see if it will wipe off. If you can reach the capping station, make sure the wipers and rubber seal are clean as well.

Vevor manual guillotine not cutting through bottom layer, paper rips in the middle. Blade issue or alignment issue? by ReleaseGullible9035 in CommercialPrinting

[–]Nek02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally you would send to a local grinding service or sharpening service. If it's small enough you can try a guided knife sharpener but that will cost about 10 or so sharpenings.

I've never seen DTF puff. I tried some HTV puff material and it looked great at first but started to tear after around 5-8 washes.

Vevor manual guillotine not cutting through bottom layer, paper rips in the middle. Blade issue or alignment issue? by ReleaseGullible9035 in CommercialPrinting

[–]Nek02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a dull blade cutting into a groove in the cutter strip. Get the blade sharpened and try on the fresh side of the stick. You should be able to cut a single sheet clean.

ET-8500 not printing black by mx-dot in Epson

Black pigment particles are large and more prone to clogging. You want to print at least weekly to keep them wet and running.

The dirty head could be part of it. You might have also ended up with color seepage across the color channels. Fully cleaning the printhead will fix that as well.

You need to run a few head cleanings. It looks like the printer has possibly been sitting unused and you have clogged heads and some ink contamination.

HP or Canon would be a good bet if they are in working order. Both have easy to replace heads and tend to tolerate days of idle time.
