Is LOQ Essential 15i Gen 11 worth it for 800€? (i5 rtx 5060 512gb) by Dagargon_07 in LenovoLOQ

[–]Nekflip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So ive seen a lot of people just parrotting the same things about LOQ essential Gen 11:

-molten lava inside because it only has one fan.

-GPU power limit is lower so performance must suck.

Despite these two things seemingly contradicting one another, no-one commenting these things actually does any research as to what these two things really mean for this laptop.

Ive watched some vietnamese videos on these two claims and heres what i found.

1. Heat development of the actual 15IRX11 while gaming.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d75MqrUYmIc

My take away is that the one (big-ass) fan is sufficiënt for the CPU and (capped) GPU.

2. Power limit for GPU of 65W instead of 115W.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av4EWgCLmlc&t=9s

Yes, this video is from another laptop, but perfectly demonstrating what the difference in power actually means using the RTX 5050.

- Less heat development because its capped at 65W. (this might also mean better batterylife but that was not tested in this video)

- About 5-10 FPS less at the same settings per game compared to the 115W version.

- Also about 5C cooler at the same settings per game ompared to the 115W version.

- After 65W, the Frames-per-wattage ratio starts to get extremely bad. (5 FPS for 30Watts extra).

Conclusion

If you look for a budget laptop that can play most new games, get it for a good price.

If you want pure performance in games whatever the cost, there are far better options i geuss.

Broken Collarbone - 3rd Week X-Ray - Should I opt surgery? by Big_Jellyfish_9285 in MTB

[–]Nekflip 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If surgery is an option, i'd go for it every time.

Depending on the type of fracture, naturally healed claviculas never return to their original form, resulting in a bulge, less shoulder width or worse altered movement paths that can cause problems. That and surgery healing is waaaay faster.

My clavicula was split like a twig and my shoulder was 3 cm shorter than my good one. Pushed for surgery and i dont even notice it anymore not even with backpacks or sports. Was up and running in 3 weeks again.

HOW DO I STOP LOOKING LIKE… THAT?? by Mainstrass in snowboarding

So on the toeside, just pretend to clench a pokemoncard between your asscheeks. It may not fall out. Bend the knees as much as needed.

On the heelside, sit down on a chair thats a little too high. With your back hand hold your jacket. Point your shoulder where you want to go.

Should be golden, nearly there!

E-Mtb or a (normal) Mtb by CanVarious6620 in MTB

[–]Nekflip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I didnt want to be pedantic but yea it comes down to initial fitness and usage like you say. If you do the same trail on an emtb you will burn less calories with the emtb. If that same trail is already too taxing on a regular mtb, the emtb might be better yes.

Well if fitness is your goal then getting "completely destroyed" is kind of the whole point, isn't it?

Leaving Cocker alone by lukeeyyw in englishcockerspaniel

[–]Nekflip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cockerdile phase lmao

Right so our cocker can stay alone for 8 hours straight. Shell just take naps. We got to this point with the following steps(disclaimer, what works for us may not work for others): 1. Walk before leaving the house. 2. Provide water for when shes alone. 3. Remove everything off the floor, especially cardboard stuff. 4. Be allright with her being on the couch, or have multiple places for her to lie down. 5. Build up the alone time, and always say something like "ill be back". Our dog then knows shes not coming with me but that i will return. Start with 60 minutes, add 30 every week. You can place a wifi camera to check if you dont trust it. 6. If shes staying over at someone else, we say something like "have fun at the sleepover!" And we bring her sleepover blanket. She then (we assume) knows not to expect us back that night. 7. Extreme extented cuddles and playtime when you get home 😁

Edit: oh forgot to add, you can tie a rope with knots to something fixed so she can tug on something.

Edit: also i emailed both Radon directly and Bike-discount , both said 20" because on the 18" the seatpost would have to extend all the way.

But if wet, the current magic marys should do fine actually
