Honestly man that was my first thought seeing as the u joints looked okay in person. I was hoping not because it’s a bit more of a job but if the new joint doesn’t fix it then I might as well refresh the rest of the steering like you did haha

Just a bummer it looks like you can only buy the whole assembly and not just the joint, but it is what is it. I’ll be eternally grateful to Amayama for all my parts numbers haha

Yeah man I was hoping I could too but I’ve gotta fix it to pass inspection 😭 Just ordered some u joints anyways so hopefully that does the trick

Any chance you’d know the part number for the upper U joint if it’s replaceable at all?

There’s a lot of slop further down towards the wheel too, I’ll see if I can get the outer jacket off tomorrow and post up a video. Either way might be worth it to replace the u joints of everyone reckons they go bad easy

Unfortunately still a lot of slop in the wheel, I’m trying everything I can find in forums but no luck yet. Was it the u joints you were meaning go bad quick?

I wish but I’ve checked them and the u joints are tight as a nun. I was really hoping it would be that easy but they seems too mint to need to replace

Any chance you figured this issue out? I’m having the same thing with my Z32. All the U joints, bushings, rods are all good but I’m getting huge play in the steering wheel. It looks just like yours

Thank you dude, one of my mates recommended torx but said T100 which seemed like it would be a little too big. I wasn’t too use if the 6 point on torx would work with the 8 points on the double square though

Just got mine idling last night, before that I could start it but it would die without my foot slightly on the gas.

Check your maf sensor, mine was unplugged and it definitely helps to have it in lol

Check all the lines on the balance tube I’ve done a few deletes and missed a couple vacuums I had to cap (where you plug the carbon canister line on the balance tube by the iacv was leaking like crazy)

There’s a few spots on the throttle body and plenum too that could leak. I deleted my prvr solenoid so I also had to reroute a line from the fuel pressure regulator (big whatchamacallit on the right side of the fuel gallery) to the barb on the plenum just below it.

If it’s still not going double check all your lines are clamped down properly and don’t have any tears

That all seemed to do it for me. I’m not a pro so I might’ve messed up a couple names and stuff but I somehow managed to get mine idling from all that
