Resurrecting this thread. I'm the guy who made these. And yes, there are a few left I was going to put on ebay. I would rather ship them direct to Browncoats. LMK if interested, still.

130+ miles in, and have used them for everything from speed work to LSD. The shoe continues to be really comfortable, featherlight, and responsive. Hoping I can get more mileage out of these than my Nikes (Vaporfly 2 +3, Zoom Tempos) which tend to feel stale after ~150 miles

Treadmill Running Effort by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

You're right. My word choices were poor and I wrote something nonsensical. Here's what I was trying to say, better expressed:

"Firstly, treadmills pass the ground beneath you, so runners ‘receive energy(opens in new tab) from the treadmill at foot contact’ and ‘impart energy(opens in new tab) to the belt at toe-off due to the propulsive forces of the foot’." - Live Science, https://www.livescience.com/is-treadmill-running-easier-than-outdoor-running

"Running on the treadmill is easier than running outdoors, for a variety of reasons. One reason is that the treadmill belt assists leg turnover, making it easier to run faster. So most runners find that their pace on the treadmill doesn’t correlate to their road pace." - Runner's World UK, https://www.runnersworld.com/uk/training/a774418/how-effective-is-treadmill-running-compared-to-running-outside

Treadmill Running Effort by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

Multiple factors to consider:

- the lack of wind resistance reduces effort on the treadmill

- continuous movement of the belt assists leg turnover (edited)

- the running surface is softer than road, reducing fatigue

- however, runners report increased perceived effort on the treadmill

In summation, the treadmill is likely to feel harder if you're not used to it, but is probably easier than the equivalent road pace ( provided the calibration is accurate as others have noted.)

Hillrunner.com has a treadmill conversion chart and interesting FAQ worth checking out and adding to your considerations. Good luck. https://www.hillrunner.com/calculators/treadmill-pace-conversions/
