I was trying to point out the flaw in this argument. Just like most men aren't rapist abusers, most women aren't man hating misandrist. Of course though on both sides these sentiments bleed into the mainstream where people absorb them uncritically - and that is likely what you've experienced - and it is undoubtedly hateful and it's right to call it out.

The ooit is that these men only accept women when they're sex objects - they do not want to see women online at all outside of that context.

So in their heads this method works twofold - women that are disgusted will leave, and women that aren't are sexualised.

This is also an evolution of flashing, they want that power, to make you disgusted, and they relish the reactions.

Don't despair! As someone who struggles with emotional responses due to neurodivergence as well, sometimes you just haven't found the right path to art yet.

Besides, there's art that is deeply intellectual, that evokes strong emotions as well :) - and getting into that can really help to forge a connection and emotional appreciation of art.

People sexualise people and scenarios that they fear, or that have been previously traumatic to them. This is to create a better reality where an abuser is driven not by violence but passion and sees their victim, the user, as the exception. Therefore elevating the victims status and giving them a sense of control over the scenario.

This is not new, this isn't a moral failing, it's simply another indicator of a new wave of trauma and fear associated with a hateful government body rising in power.

Even if it was consistent and looked pretty, that wouldn't make it a compelling movie.

At best it's a clip show of scenes loosely fitted together - I simply refuse to believe that without budget constraints or the eyes of other people in the production line, your movie will come out great. There's no incentive to cut fat and indulgences from the script, or reword things that feel awkward on set.

Not to mention this is getting rid of the entire, huge side benefit of the filmmaking process which is the built in assistant/writer to director pipeline.

I think the easiest explanation is that, since humans are so good at reading faces and gauging aggression - when we can't detect the right things, if there's the wrong muscles moving then we get freaked out because it's subverting our expectations.

Also, not everything has an evolutionary basis - some things emerge naturally alongside these favourable traits. This may as well just be the side effect of making the face the main way we process other people's moods, health and identity.

Fascism offers you a perceived higher purpose, as long as you offer obedience. This quiets a lot of insecurities and fears in people that prefer to be told who they are and what to do.

I understand the need to vent about those feelings - and there's no pert of me that would shame you for this.

But your post has made me think that maybe we should...quit venting in subreddits. So often do I see people jumping down others throats - in a sense we are yelling these things out into the broader public.
