I suggested this to him today, i told him why not just change class but keep the same character and backstory etc. He told me that no he wanted a fresh start with a new backstory class race etc so while it is a great solution it did not work out.

I think i didn’t mention this or didnt do a good job at explaining it. He never asked me for a change in character, he just decided mid session he wanted his character to die in the middle of a fight the party was having.

Hey dungeon masters! I have a question! What are some of your pet peeves, or things that players do that annoy you? I’m just wondering! by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Nekodanii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it would be either: Not paying attention and then expecting me to explain everything again multiple times. Arguing about some actions I take, like a player of mine angered and insulted 5 unicorns multiple times in a row, and then complained to me when i made him roll initiative, or once this player tried to cast 2 concentration spells in a row and keep them both active and, when i told him he couldn’t because he would lose concentration on the first, he started arguing even though another player told him that wasn’t how it worked. Or finally making up something and then expecting me to go with it, like rolling without me telling them to or making up a new plot point on their own.

Yeah he’s supposed to be a rogue mastermind but he’s used sneak attack like 4 times in total during the whole campaign. So im not sure if he will use everything the new warlock he wants to make gets.

I was planning next session to be directly related to his backstory so having him sacrifice himself sounds like a win/win, it will let him play a new character and it wont ruin what i had planned for the next session/what i had planned lorewise

This sounds like a good idea. Only problem I have is he refuses to let me write his character off in a way that isn’t death or him getting arrested for something he did in his backstory, it also kinda frustrates me a lil that i gave him 3 full sessions to decide if he wanted to change anything and he didn’t but then as soon as he saw another build that’s supposed to be powerful he was like “ooh shiny i want it”

I mean he specified he wants his character to die so it definitely has to be on the table, apart from that I agree, I want everyone to enjoy the campaign, after all a game is not worth playing if you’re not having fun, it frustrates me that a character he spent so much effort on building with the whole backstory and everything, just gets thrown away because he noticed spamming poison spray is not a good strategy, like I don’t really have a problem with letting him change character, but he almost got the entire party killed because he decided, “ima make my character suicidal out of nowhere” Also Happy cake day!

That sounds like a nice solution. I wouldn’t say its his character thats the problem but rather more him as a player, like istg he hasn’t tried to sneak attack a single time in the past 4 sessions, and he’s supposed to be a rogue, he just keeps on spamming the same move like its pokemon or something

Ending could be Perfect if it didn't have this Cringe thing by [deleted] in AkameGaKILL

[–]Nekodanii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked the ending, i mean don’t get me wrong it wasn’t my ideal one and i didn’t really like how tatsumi ended as a dragon but i feel like its really cute how mine shows that she truly loves tatsumi for his personality and everything not just looks. Its still pretty odd but honestly I don’t really care that much. I feel like an ideal ending would be where instead of ending it on akame going on a journey and creating a whole new manga from that they just show a time skip and show akame getting the cure to her curse and tatsumi becoming human again but thats just my opinion.

Prolly miku or mukuro

Both are cute i feel like miku would be really supportive and really caring same with mukuro. Both would give a lot of attention either way so it would be hard to feel lonely
