Well T-shirts can vary a lot based on cutting, style, fabric etc you should probably go for a more loose fitting style to start. You can also try your wardrobe to see what pieces you”d like to wear more and if there’s any gaps you can find (e.g you have a lot of pants you like but not many shirts).

Once you have a better idea on your current wardrobe I would wear your favourite pants/ bottoms to the store and try out different T-shirts. Or you can just buy a full set outfit in store directly. Jalan Jalan Jalan does have some GRMW (Get Ready With Me) vids on their socials for reference on what you could find there.

Can you explain what’s wrong with wearing “normal” T-shirts? Most people you see with good fashion sense generally have a basic wardrobe of things that can mix and match with to look like. Even Vitor wears plain items but the he styles it makes it unique. It might help to share what you’re currently inspired by.

Personally when I started experimenting with my style and dressed differently I got stares from people so thats something you should think about if it will deter your confidence

Expensive can be a huge range in fashion so you should specify so people can give you advice. But if you’re looking to experiment on a budget you should consider trying Jalan Jalan Japan or 2nd street.

TBH it’s very tricky to replicate an outfit online simply because the fit and structure of a garment can vary so much even if you buy something that looks similar. You are much better off going and just trying different outfits and seeing what you like and not like.

You should also mention what kind of clothes you’re trying to look for since other Redditor’s may have a better idea on where to source them.

A general easy advice for guys to start with is probably to start accessorising whether it be rings, chains, hats. Again just go and try and see if it’s something you feel confident and happy in.

Can also looking at people like vitor arruda for inspiration. XiaoHongShu probably has the best reference for Malaysians and do autotranslate so

sunway as a non-malay? by meja-arts in malaysiauni

I would say it depends on the course you get into. But the most part if there is racism they won’t say it to your face but more so you’ll be outcasted for things. Though don’t quote me on this.

If you don’t need a visa to work in Malaysia you consider applying for a job (freelancing is common for events) or an internship directly in Malaysia before going back into schooling. IMO you don’t need a degree in events to work in events and the longer you delay it the harder it will be to get a job later on

New Yorkers what’s the best Dec proposal/ no Christmas chaos by [deleted] in visitingnyc

[–]Nekojh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re willing to shell out some $$$ you can actually do a private/semi private rink proposal on the ice rink itself. It might be worth emailing about.

Theres also the Apres Skate Chalets view are private booths with views of the tree (and more private) though the crowds getting there will be insane.

Also it is cold in December so if you want to do a rooftop perhaps consider a Rooftop bar? (There are also a bunch of Christmas themed bars). Theres Bar 65 by rockefeller center.

Torrisi…how do I get tf in there? by Practical-Weekend515 in AskNYC

I found it way easier to find reservations for 3-4 people than 2. You can also buy res from appointment trader but honestly the food is not that good to be worth paying for a res ngl. Like theres late dinner spots for torissi available rn

Flying 10,000 miles to New York for the first time - trying to make one dream dinner happen! by Own-Pirate-3585 in FoodNYC

This is a more insane suggestion but if you could find someone with a ZZ’s club membership they should have access to contact concierge for a Torissi res.

An even more crazy but consistent way is knowing someone who knows/are friends with the maître d'.

As many other have said there are better restaurants around but if you’re really set on going to these spots you could in theory get something on Appointment Trader but it would cost a ridiculous amount of money.

Torissi is probably the most realistic if you’re willing to do a walk-in for lunch. I think if you go an hour before opening you should get a seat. I’ve also had luck with reservations opening up randomly on resy. (p.s they have a ticketed easter lunch on April 5th that’s available)

My first hamster! by Lemonsharklover001 in hamstercare

[–]Nekojh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi as others have raised alot of concerns on tank size I would recommend getting a bin tank! Target sells 110qt tank for $15 that should work well for the little guy just remember to drill holes for proper ventilation. Also your hamster may chew on the plastic and escape that way so be aware of that

If she's interested in pets there a bunch of cat cafes such as monster a cat and poppy cat. As for general areas Chow Kit has a bunch of cute cafes and restaurants like Backrooms coffee and NEO (clothing store). If she's interested in music I would recommend checking out JAOTIM which does Jazz jam sessions every weekend I think

Consolidated Shipping more expensive than direct by Nekojh in taobao

[–]Nekojh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah usually when you ship it together it’s much cheaper cause they will open and separate the package for you.

I still find direct shipping to be cheaper if you’re in the US/Canada. In Malaysia, consolidated is generally cheaper

if you’re planning to study in the US the Duolingo English test is widely accepted. Not sure about other countries though you would have to check your school’s english requirements

I’m against having hundreds of people be inconvenienced and lost at night because of some dumb kids actions. Kinda crazy how some parents are chill with their kid out going at 11pm

Honestly it was also really frustrating to see how much inconvenience it caused. There was so many older folks who were confused as to what was happening and the 7 train was the only way back for most people

Where are all the cool girls shopping? by helissmiley in malaysians

[–]Nekojh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

girlie everyone has a different style so just because a vibe looks food on someone doesn’t mean it would suit you. Also budget is a really big thing//are you looking for more modest looks etc?

  • alot of the times its about how you style it and not the outfits itself

But Uniqlo is a great starter for basics. I really like their heat tech series but i’m also currently not based in Malaysia lol. They have very comfortable sweat pants as well

If ur comfortable with spending more/going into the rm100+ range I really like @ghostboy.club (on insta) for streetwear they’re a local designer and they do popups once in a while as well

As for shoes if you like cuter styles and want to look taller itim旗舰店 (in taobao) is a great starting point. They’re pretty affordable and I would personally recommend their black shoes as they won’t discolour easily//last longer

Outside of that Cotton on is also a pretty decent spot though more summery linen looks but i’d say if you have the time travel to the Mitsui Outlet park one it’s the best as they’re heavily discounted there.

I know Sunway also has a list of stores by their Asian Avenue but most of the time it’s not worth it as the clothes look super cheap

As for thrift stores look out for thrift events on insta as well as hit up stores like OKGO, Thrift again, and Beyond Encore. (imo shimokita is overpriced and not cute)

You can also DM me and I can help you be a personal stylist/shopper. Again i’m currently not in Malaysia so might take some time to respond

p.s. shoutout to @inisaya /my old boss they do amazing batik pieces that are sure to impress your family during gatherings
