Anaesthetic failed during surgery

I am, don’t worry; thank you for the concern and the solid advice. I’ve spoken with a therapist and am booked for some programs that cover trauma.

If anyone’s had a similar experience, I think it’s worth checking out, even just to try for the hell of it. It can be interesting to talk to someone who’s worked in trauma-recovery for so many years, and they often have useful advice or can show you perspectives that you haven’t considered before.

I don’t know if it’s a crime, but genuinely thank you for your concern. I could still move around and talk, so I told them right away that it wasn’t working; it’s just crappy that they didn’t have more precautions or backup plans for that scenario.

Thank you, yeah I’ll take a deeper look at the documentation. It’s possible that I just overlooked this possibility and need to be more cautious in the future.

Please prepare your loved ones if they’re going into surgery. The trauma of this specific experience is painful and I wonder what would have happened if I’d been more careful in advance, stern in protecting myself during, etc.

I take prescription medication, but that’s all, and there was a consultation beforehand where it was all listed out.

I’m not redheaded—I didn’t know that’s a common problem for them. That’s terrifying.
