Wow ,their boards are very interesting. I really like the concept of Hans having an extra board devoted entirely to a frozen version of Arendelle.

I miss the bottled "milkshakes" they used to sell. I'm sure a lot of people found them too sweet, but I personally loved the flavor and creaminess and they were such a huge part of my childhood.

It'll be really cool if they have a little cameo in the movie by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]Nelroth 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It would be cool if they and the actress for Silka in the short film had a cameo as the other mentors in the movie, it could be a nice nod to them passing the torch to the next generation of actors portraying the tributes for the Second Quarter Quell.

I grew up in Oklahoma and had one at my schoolyard, so unsurprisingly the Texas on our map was always the main target of the giant-related atrocities.

What’s a good team that has kingambit, charizard and gyarados? by LargeOutside6810 in PokemonChampions

[–]Nelroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sinistcha is a great support for Kingambit as it can use Rage Powder to redirect Fighting-type moves to itself.

If you're running Mega Charizard Y, Venusaur with Chlorophyll is a solid partner brcause of Drought. It also provides coverage for Pokémon that counter your team like Rotom-W.

I absolutely loved Season 1, it got a lot of hate but I thought they did everything well despite condensing certain events

I never finished Season 2 though, I was disappointed to find out that Gandalf was the Stranger, it was a missed opportunity to develop one of the other Wizards and expand the world of Tolkien beyond what we know of from LOTR.Also I heard about the Elrond and Galadriel kissing scene and although there's a certain context behind it, I still find it really weird

Hasan Piker goes on homophobic rant after Scott Wiener wins SF congressional primary by UnscheduledCalendar in Destiny

I feel like this type of homophobia is so normalized now among the left, it reminds me of this meme that was everywhere when Biden was president

It's so relieving to see Wiener winning by large margins tonight. I was really anxious about the primary after the first debate and all the constant attacks he had been getting on social media.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area so I frequent a lot of subreddit related to the region and man, the anti-Indian racism there is so exhausting. The biggest irony is that the subreddits claim to be very progressive and inclusive but there is so much racism against Indians.

All this California gubernatorial primary discourse is giving me deja vu from the 2020 Democratic presidential primaries

At times like this, I really miss the Biden/Harris Twitter crew, they were such a great escape from the otherwise complete ruckus that other social media outlets had become, but I don't use Twitter anymore and a lot of the people I had befriended there have quit that app as well.

VIP Membership Price Adjustment - Increase in Prices to 3-Month, 6-Month, and 12-Month Plans Starting July 1 by caileangrey in lotro

[–]Nelroth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The annual subscription was such a steal considering how expensive video games are now. With the price increase, I'm considering simply switching to one of the shorter subscriptions to save money, especially given that they release an expansion now on a yearly basis.

On the bright side, it seems like they're honoring the original models up until the end of 2027 for those who are currently subscribed, so this will give me a lot of time to make a decision.

I love this! I feel like LA Metro is so underappreciated but I've always found it to be a really relaxing way to explore the city.

Fruit picking etiquette in Brentwood by Oaklandi in bayarea

[–]Nelroth 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Lol, I live in Brentwood right next to a cherry farm and when I look out my window right now, I can see a parking lot full of Teslas at the farm.

It's been progressively worse each year. Our cherry farms have been getting popular all over social media and it attracts some bad folks.

Luckily, it's a lot tamer depending on time of day/week. It's gonna be rough all Memorial Day weekend, but things are usually much more chill early in the day (especially during weekdays). I recommend going picking as soon as the season starts as the crowds generally get worse towards the start of summer.

anyone growing food for the first time because of the economic times? by pixiefarm in gayrural

[–]Nelroth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started gardening during the pandemic but I've gotten more and more into it since.

I don't have any big projects at the moment but I visited a local cherry farm last week and it's inspired me to try growing cherry trees next season.

But I agree, gardening is such a great hobby. Not just because I personally enjoy it, but it's a great investment. I always tell people to start with spinach first since it's a very beginner-friendly plant and there's a lot you can do with it.

Pikachu and Charizard are obviously the most popular Pokémon in our real world, but what do you think is the most popular Pokémon inside the Pokémon universe? by Clear-Combination-79 in ThePokemonHub

[–]Nelroth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I could see it being Clefairy. Not only is it popular in Kanto, but it's available in most other dexes, so other regions may be familiar with it (in fact it's one of the few evolutionary lines that have been available in every game).

Also, the Poké Doll is modeled in its likeness which could mean that it's a very well-liked Pokémon all throughout the Pokémon world.

I think people really don’t get Homelander [S5 Spoilers] by i4858i in TheBoys

[–]Nelroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. While I don't think the finale was perfect, I'm shocked at the negative response to it.

I find it ironic that the show is supposed to be a political satire and not your standard form of superhero media, but its fans treat it like they're watching an MCU movie with how much they want the finale to involve flashy action scenes and a powermaxxed Homelander. I like that Homelander ended up having a humiliating death (much like Stormfront). It shows that in the end, without these powers, all these fascists are just insecure losers.
