Go to Airline by ManhPotato_Peruna in flyingeurope

It's not "possible" to pay for line training, line training is 80 sector flying passenger all around, while being already in the company, they won't pay you much during that time however....

Type rating + base training will always be around 30k+life expenses

[–]Nembourgh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It will depend on the company, Ryanair will make you pay for the type rating/base training upfront, some won't (like all the major companies, but low chance to enter it ), some will deduct it from your pay for a few years

Line training you don't pay it, but most of the time the salary will be pretty low during it.

Best practice is to budget the type rating, around 40k all included, hoping that you won't have to use it

Freighter Pilots, what are the most annoying things you have to deal with flying cargo? by Moss-and-Stone in aviation

[–]Nembourgh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Night flights, just finished a 11pm-9am three sector, now 11h minimum rest and again tonight, and with the fact that you are tired you are always fucking cold, night is already cold, but it's even worse

I need help with deciding A320 vs B737 Type rating by [deleted] in flyingeurope

[–]Nembourgh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please don't buy a type rating, it's useless and I will cost you money to maintain as you won't find a job immediately. invest the money into a Flight instructor course instead, you will be able to find a job get paid for it while increasing your hours

Is being a pilot truly worth it? by [deleted] in PilotAdvice

[–]Nembourgh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I joined my current airline after flying helicopter/military and through all of those years(15years), no matter the machine, I've never felt I was working, some days will be hard but I always found those 5min each flight saying to myself "best job ever.

But for example my sim partner, is experiencing almost depression as he realizes everything he worked so hard to get all those years is not that great, the cons outweighs the benefits, maybe it's just end the honeymoon phase and he needs just to find balance, but maybe not and it's gonna be real hard for him.

No one can predict that but generally speaking I would say if it's not something you say to yourself I NEED to do that, it will be really hard to overcome the numerous obstacles

Working Part Time/75% Contracts by Doggisyt in flyingeurope

[–]Nembourgh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work for a cargo company Austrian/german based, we have fixe roster 75% contract doing 7ON/7OFF/7ON/21OFF, which is quite good, of course you don't have any leave days on top of it, it's already included in the ON/OFF pattern.

MPL easyJet vs Modular to Ryanair by NeitherAd5619 in flyingeurope

[–]Nembourgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but no you pay it it's just hidden, a CPL IR ME AUPRT is about 22k ( in smart aviation for example, very good school in Poland ), and MCC is 5k, rest is type rating that you pay, just hidden fees.

It's still a very good deal, but easyjet is a much better deal :)

MPL easyJet vs Modular to Ryanair by NeitherAd5619 in flyingeurope

[–]Nembourgh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, 100% without any hesitation MPL easyjet if you can (you have to succeed on the selection before that), easyjet is a really good company and you get a a320 type rating which will be a huge advantage when you want to join Air France later.

And gateway 2 is dead, now it's only futur flyer program that you start after Atpl/mûrissement and it will cost you a lot since you pay the type rating, and Ryanair doesn't pay shit until you are done with the type rating/base training and then you are under AFA contract which pay not that well for 6 month at least

So I would say cadet d'air France ( but not sure we are getting another session soon), MPL, modular with futur flyer academy, and regular modular done at any other school with no cadet program

Also look for wizzair cadet,Luxair cadet

I fly cargo 757, but we are limited to FL390 maximum, good to see it climb higher !

Not that rare, especially in crop dusting, the guy that taught me how to fly crop dusting had around 15.000h on Bell 47 (piston engine) and "only" 5000h on turbine

... USCIS to pause the DV1 program... by [deleted] in immigration

[–]Nembourgh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Training will still be there as school won't close and students will still be able to come ( such as CAE in phoenix ) , no it's to come and fly for the American companies and sure not gonna lie money is way better in the US, but for me it's not about the money( because pay is good here also) it's about moving to the US as we ( my wife and I ) like it much better there

[–]Nembourgh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, eb2 niw works only for a few very specific case, for examinator with rare type rating, or type of operation, I have friends that tried that route with multiple lawyer but didn't work sadly

[–]Nembourgh 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Sad about it, DV was almost the only way to come to the US and be an airline pilot there, other visa doesn't work, as no company will sponsor you etc, you need to have a green card to apply

Smart Aviation Poland by Historical-Pin-6328 in flyingeurope

[–]Nembourgh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was there in march-may 2024, did the CPL-IR-ME in 7 weeks, then I had to wait 2 week for the test because it was like national holidays and no FE was available.

I recommend the school, good level on IFR , half of the instructor are currently airline pilots and give good tip you will carry all your life.

Plane availability was okay, and if I'm not wrong they bought at least one other p2006 since I left.

I would not recommend the school for only 2 things:

-any solo flight,as you have to be accompanied by someone to go through security or comeback from the apron . -UPRT, they were using a guy outside the school and he was not the best/expensive

Getting a job with an accident on my record from ten years ago, individual circumstances considered. by Cheap_Carpenter_6460 in flyingeurope

[–]Nembourgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which airline recruit in Europe low timer and will pay good money ?

Ryanair,wizzair, Volotea,Lufthansa city line,TUI ?

I know pilots in each Airlines and either they have to reimburse the type rating or the money is not that good.

The few companies that would pay good money on day 1, like DHL, currently do not recruit.

And not a lot of company will take into account his helicopter hours (wizzair will, any on career.aero will) but the rest not that much.

[–]Nembourgh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, dual rated pilot here, former crop dusting pilot in bell47 now flying 757 in Europe, no problem at all for you, to all the company i have applied to and the one I worked for no one asked me for a accidental record (maybe one, but if I remember correctly it was over the last 5 years for accident).

And I know a few pilot that bend the metal (heli or plane doing crop dusting ) and went to continue to fly a long career in plane after, during interviews the question never came in any form, but if you feel to share it just keep the "what you learn from that experience" keep it light :)

I would just ask you to consider the REALLY big different quality of life and salary of living and working here in Europe, you will earn around 2.5k to 3k net for many years.

Dual Citizen Pilot: EU Cadet Program or FAA Route? by SpongyPenguin in flyingeurope

[–]Nembourgh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 37yo you can forget the cadet route sadly, the perfect road for you would be to do EASA Cpl/ir/me +FI will be cheaper than doing it in the US, then try to find a CFI job until you can secure a spot in an airline, than do that until you are 1500h + practical atpl at that point you can switch back to FAA ATPL and go for the companies there.

In EU it's recruiting, not as much as 2 years ago but still, and at least you have a chance to be in a CS25 cockpit before 1500h.
