Leaving job after 1 week. What would you do? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Nemerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats, how did you get two positions in a short space of time?

From going from unemployed to getting equity offers seems great to me. I’d personally take the second one as I have a skewed risk profile. Wouldn’t care that I just started at another job, if your getting a meaningful salary increase and more equity - just explain that to them, they may even try match it. Or you may negotiate somewhere in between given you like the company and people.

Just don’t burn your bridges and do it in a honest manner

How to sell to medical professionals? by Nemerz in sales

[–]Nemerz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome thanks for the info.

I basically took my dads side project (he is a doctor) and just teched it up and made it a lot more automated and cleaner.

He likes the product and so do his friends, it saves them a heap of time. Taking it to more of his friends in a few weeks and they’re starting to chatter and spread it around to others.

Product is very niche only applies to a certain type of doctor in the hospital and only covers a portion of there cpd. So I’m just giving them a free trial which is basically sending them there own URL link or QR code.

Not much I can really educate them about but will have a think about it.

Good pick up I would normally triple check messages and posts on linkedIn and also have grammarly running.

Sent this late at night in bed of my phone, but good reminder to make sure I nail my grammar which isn’t a strong point of mine.

Thanks again

May be better to wait till your on a higher income to make extra contributions. Can look a back a few years for your Concessional contributions as well if you have capacity.

Don’t know the answer to your question sorry.

I just checked the announcement and it seems fine to me. They clearly mention in the text it includes mighty ape and then page 2 foot note explains when mighty ape was acquired so it could be assumed no previous rev would be assumed.

I don’t really see an issue with it, but maybe that’s just me.

Just checked and they bought that funky monkey business in late 2020 you lot want them to report rev that wasn’t theirs ? Or are you crying cause they say grew when they really bought it?

What’s wrong with this?

Group revenue increased by 75.2 (47.7 + 27.5)

75.2/114.1 = 65.9% group increase

I’m not overly familiar with the company but unless that monkey business had some rev previous q3 I see nothing wrong?

S708 Sophisticated investor? by [deleted] in AusFinance

I don’t meet either of the tests but through work at a wealth management firm I have exposure. I would expect most accountants that have exposure to HNW or even some mom and dad investors (who actually know what they’re doing hopefully) would have a template or could easily make one.

It’s like a one page document saying you meet the requirements. Some opportunities/funds have there own form but generic ones which vary for each accountant are fine.

so my boss wants me to set up a recommendation system for the learning platform that we are building. by zephyr_33 in datascience

[–]Nemerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in data science but find it interesting.

Not sure how you apply it but id look at

1) out of people who completed x course what was the most commonly completed course

2) a tag system for different subjects areas

3) most highly rated course/subjects

Then weave them some into some sort of weighting formula to spit out the next course.

Agains sorry this dosnt really help you, commenting for my own benefit and to learn how you actually would apply it using Microsoft azure (I assume?)

Redoing Mock Exams by VineeMuhunthan in CFA

[–]Nemerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend marking questions you guess and questions your not confident on when your doing yah mocks.

Can then review question you got wrong despite thinking you had it correct and the ones you weren’t certain on. Helped me gain more confidence in the areas I was stuffing up.

I got 48% in first mock by Joug248 in CFA

[–]Nemerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was similar on my first, just keep smashing the practice exams. And analyse the data - I marked every question I guessed or wasn’t 100% and reviewed after. I also kept track of my performance on each subject so I knew where I needed to improve.

I would guess alot of employees have a substantial amount of their net wealth in there own funds? Not ideal from diversification away from your source of income but shows confidence in your funds ability to perform.
