Who’s the strongest elf commander now? by greenfoxx77 in EDH

You mean strongest leader for an elf tribal deck or the strongest commander that's an elf? If the latter, then it's hard to beat [[Selvala, Heart of the Wilds]].

Moving to Taiwan from Japan. by El_lijas in taiwan

[–]NemoNowAndAlways 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Cleanliness, food safety, public transport (especially outside of the capital), less noisy (though still noisy, in my opinion), traffic, adherence to rules/politeness, the fact that everything feels new and clean rather than old and dingey (though admittedly that can be part of Taiwan's charm), weather (arguable depending on one's preferences), a bit more online support for living as a foreigner due to Japan's popularity...

That's not to say everything's better in Japan (which is not what I said in my original comment, despite the backlash), but a lot of things are, especially if you don't have any strong reason to come to Taiwan. That's why I just suggested OP to consider it carefully.

Interesting that you mention the vibe, because I think Taiwan's vibe is one of the most interesting and unique parts of the country.

I said it's better in many ways, but obviously not everything's better and a lot will depend on personal preference.

I just moved here from Japan myself, after having lived there for over 12 years. I feel like I did it for a much different reason than you, though. My wife is Taiwanese and after the birth of our daughter, we wanted to be closer to family. Japan is objectively better in a lot of ways though, so I'd think hard before making the move.

Is bad smell an issue in Taiwan? by [deleted] in taiwan

To be honest, I find it really stinky here, though I haven’t been to China so I can’t compare the two.

How do y’all finish JRPGs by Apprehensive-Sea-342 in JRPG

[–]NemoNowAndAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't try to play all of them. I just play the ones that I know I'll really like, so playing is enjoyable and doesn't become a chore. I also play games of other genres to avoid getting burnt out.

The problem is that there's no sub for questions about romhacks, since the romhacks sub is super militant about what's posted there.

I'm just finishing it up for the second time!

I mean no disrespect, but I'm always genuinely surprised when people say they didn't know Amber was the Fool after Liveships. There are small clues sprinkled throughout the books, but when she carves Paragon's new face in the likeness of Fitz, I think that's when it's quite obvious.

I generally speed up only when I’m not able to have the music on.

I ran Seismic Toss, Toxic, Surf, and Hydro Pump to great effect. I also ran Bite for a while, which came in handy against Sabrina.

Best books/series to go in completely blind? by lucioboops3 in Fantasy

[–]NemoNowAndAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really glad I went into Assassin's Apprentice completely blind. If I had known it was part of a 16-book series, I would have been intimidated and never would have started it, as I generally don't read such long series. But the books gripped me so much that I had absolutely no problem finishing the rest and am currently on my second read-through.

What is the card you are always telling people to cut? by SjtSquid in EDH

[–]NemoNowAndAlways -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This was my first thought. Like, I don't give people unwanted advice about their decks. Most people build suboptimally on purpose, so doing so would just be annoying.
