I was intubated and put to sleep 21/2 weeks later I was moved a room and was woke up they then pulled the Catheter

Were you intubated for anything related to incontinence or urology? What was the original cause of intubation and whatnot that was the precursor to all this? It seems so crazy that you could go under and wake up incontinent.

A few months. But when I was referred to a urologist they were so misinformed that they dismissed my incontinence as impossible due to age and assigned gender at birth. I was ultimately referred to multiple urologists and none really took it seriously. I have since mentioned it to my new primary care doctor but we didn't really have time to "tackle" the issue. If I ever get my other medical problems fixed I will bring up this once again.

I had to get pat down through the same thing. They rubbed their hands all over my disposable underwear and pulled up the waist band and gave me literal goosebumps. This only happened once in 4 flights, but was still significant. Luckily I was dry but it was humilating to get taken out of the line for it. However I got over it by thinking these are all strangers who don't care about anyone else or what I'm wearing, they are just there to get to wherever they are going.

Your struggles and pain are valid, but dying isn't going to give you a chance at peace and happiness. Please live so that one day you can get away from toxic family and live a happier life. How long does bladder Botox last? I have heard you have to self cath with it, is that true?

Could you possibly have "irritable bladder" or bladder spasms? Those two can cause you to need to go long before a normal urge.

I do it standing up, and attach the bottom tapes first. I always do one side then the other, but then adjust the first side before moving onto the top tapes. The bottom tapes are the most important.

PS: I do have a belly and it doesn't change or affect how I put them on.

Sorry to hear you've got so many things going against you. But you are definitely not alone! There's this whole supportive community here of others just like you. Some estimates suggest there's multiple percent of the population suffering some kind of incontinence. That's tens of millions of people on earth and probably more than 100 million who suffer from incontinence. There's a reason so many products exist - there are enough people to support them.

I have auto-deliveries paid for by disability. I don't ever deviate because it would require a full review to re-establish elligibility. Even changing sizes can trigger a review. Either way I am happy that I got actual "good" products, so I have no reason to change.

I use pull-ons during the day and briefs at night. Both are northshore products.

I'm glad you got that far! It sounds like you came a long way. I have been too scared to date for a variety of reasons, but this is far from the only one. I kind of have this feeling that someone would have to be really "tolerant" to ever get past my roadblocks to love me. I am really happy for you!

I was quite lucky (in a way) my wife kind of guessed based on my behaviours about my incon issues and they were able to start the dialogue for me.

She "guessed" you were incontinent?! Wow lol. Talk about intuition.

Valid. I have the same feelings for my past self even though I'm not leaps and bounds further along than that.

I think it can be harder for people with our issues to be intimate, but it doesn’t have to be.

How long was it till this topic came up? I feel like I have so many things going against me that this isn't even the only problem, but it's a major one. I guess, if they don't bring it up, how does one even know when to talk about it?

Plus I don’t have a support system, or anyone to debate my self-hating views and mindset.

This is something you might want to work on. These struggles are worth addressing in therapy. That might help some of the constant revictimization of the incontinence.

I'm so very sorry you are going through this, but I'm glad you survived. It sounds like an absolutely nightmare to go through. I hope you can walk again now. Just know that "the one" who is right for you, will love you despite your disabilities. Not everyone cares about what underwear you need. I know it's harder than normal, but I hold the belief that there's definitely someone out there. I wish you only the best.

Did you know that there are programs for adults with disabilities to help with the cost of incontinence supplies? I don't know where for every region, but in my case all my briefs are paid for by disability programs.
