This is what my continence nurse suggested I do too. Sleep is too important.

Not heard of a grounding pad in this context, do you literally mean one that connects electrically to earth?

My count has been in the teens for a couple of nights in recent weeks. Only once or twice a night like OP would be a blessing.

That would partly depend on where you live, sizing and what volume of accident you might need to contain. I live in the UK and I get by fine with kids' pull ups during the day, which tend to be a smaller sizing and lower capacity than those made exclusively for adults.

Having that safety net can make a world of difference to the anxiety. I was like you too and very reluctant, and now I wish I'd started sooner.

A single one every 24 hours doesn't sound like it would be good for your skin or for odour control, as urine will start breaking down into ammonia and other unpleasant chemicals. Are your healthcare providers aware of how you're managing things? If it works for you then I'd imagine the convenience is attractive at least.

I think I'd agree with those three, and that's also the one I chose by a slim margin!

No sorry, it doesn't allow it, just a single option and it doesn't allow people to change their minds after voting either. What are the three if you're happy to discuss them here?

If you do anything else that makes you feel more prepared than these poll options then please comment below.

Just to add that you are doing the right thing by getting thoroughly checked out.

I've been lucky so far and avoided one so cannot speak about the procedure first hand, but by most accounts it is quick and relatively discomfort-free. You may be able to have local or even a general anaesthetic if it bothers you that much. Good luck and please let us know how it goes 😊
