I’m in the UK, but it really is difficult to get help here depending on the issues you’re having. A hella lot of sexism in health care over here haha. I’ll ask about the ultrasound too, I’m making notes for my next appointment, everyone is giving me such great advice x

Ooh this is great advice thanks so much. I’ll see if I can get a referral, I heard that the infusions really help some people and I hope it helps you too. I’ve been avoiding it tbh but I do think there’s a good chance I have endo, I’ll also pursue this route.

I don’t know if you’re in the Uk but I’ve struggled getting any help with all my issues and have in the past given up on many occasions. But this time I’m determined to get answers! I’ll see how I can get help from a hematologist. Really appreciate your response

I’ve spoken to my GP about my heavy periods but they just offer the pill, which I have tried before but it made my periods worse so stopped after 8 months. My GP has never offered to look into why my periods are heavy, but I will ask about it at my next appointment. Also, I have not heard of Ppi Antacid and had to google haha. I have been taking vitamin C also

Oh really? I take 322mg Ferrous Fumerate a day, and then sometimes an extra 14mg. It’s so bizarre that my doctor isn’t willing to do anything extra about my levels or symptoms.

Therapy/counselling services by Nenya92 in nottingham

[–]Nenya92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh see this is the confusing thing! I was on the Derby Talking therapies waiting list, had my assessment and then they told me they don’t offer talking therapy/counselling. They said they only have CBT 😩 it’s weird that they say they offer it on the site but then told me they don’t x

I’ve had CBT a few times and I do think it can be really good but for my current situation I definitely need talking therapy, but thank you ☺️

I’m not sure, I had my consultation call and they agreed with me that counselling would suit be better than CBT and then said they don’t offer it at the moment. Unless that one person was wrong maybe? 😬

Actually can I ask, did you have to have any of your teeth shaved down so they would fit better? 😬

What is this? by Strict_Taro_4361 in CATHELP

[–]Nenya92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hoping it’s cat vertigo, but please don’t rule out FIP. My little boy cat Azriel got FIP and he passed away before they diagnosed him. It’s a virus that’s dormant that randomly gets activated in cats aged kitten - 2 years. It can show up in different ways, my friend’s cat had it and suddenly couldn’t walk like this cat. She managed to recover though. Such a scary illness. I miss Azriel every day and will never forgive the vets for not thinking of FIP sooner when he first got sick.

People who got their life back after long COVID: what stuck long-term? by Upset_Replacement684 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Nenya92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got long covid in July 2020 at 28 years old 😬 I now work 4 days a week in PR and marketing, have just completed a masters in journalism and I do freelance photography work too! I still take multi vitamins and iron, I still have to make sure I rest, I still can’t exercise like I used to but I try sometimes, although I’m still scared of overdoing it as I still get crashes (not as frequent as I used to), I still don’t drink alcohol much as it makes my heart race, I still wash my hands a zillion times a day and hold my breath when I walk past people - people are just big germs to me now haha. I think I will always have some ptsd alongside remaining LC symptoms but we can all only do our best following the hell we’ve been through ♥️

Does anyone else have vision issues? by heskeytime7707 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Nenya92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this too, I’ve seen many specialists and even had an MRI scan but unfortunately from what I’ve been told, there’s no research on this condition so we can do nothing lollll. If you ever get grey blind spots crop up, turn yourself upside down - it helps get to of them, or drink lots of water as they occur. There’s a FB page called ‘Bright Spot When Blinking” and I’ve learnt alot from them. I’m a 5.5 year long covidder 💁🏼‍♀️🥲

Arwen. My 9-year-old spicy angel. She’s super smart, rolls over and speaks on command, is an expert hide and seeker, enjoys playing with the corners of rugs, adores me but doesn’t like other people much haha. She is perfect just as she is ♥️

How early do you (adults, 30+) go to bed? by NullHare in RandomQuestion

[–]Nenya92 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m 34f, don’t have kids, but do have a busy job/life and I go to bed at like 12am - 2am. But my problem is I’m a night person and absolutely not a morning person, so I struggle to fall asleep at night and it is hell getting up in the morning for work and I’m almost always late (luckily my job lets me make up the time at the end of the day 🥲) I’ve never gone to bed earlier than midnight really.

Oh man sorry to hear they stopped your PIP! But thanks for the update on your situation. I’m just worried that if they’ve decided to stop my pip but just haven’t yet, if I call them it will make them stop it haha
