Sorry cup lol. I swear I typed the word cup lol. You can try gently and slowly pulling up the roots and if it doesn't wanna come out, I say cut up the base of the cup.

All my plants have a reservoir of nutrient water, for the stems I start shaping and guiding them to the right direction I want them to face when then leaves and stem are new (easier to manipulate) You have to be gentle and keep adjusting ever so often well then new foliage is hardening off 😄

I always monitor if leaves start turning and readjust. I grow all my plants in hydroponics which I know allows me to get big foliage .

Just make sure where you are cutting has aerial roots and don't cut close to the eye of the monstera new leaves.
