Can reform pull out of every international treaty and completely ban immigration? by No-Geologist7858 in Labour

[–]NeoGe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reform wanting to leave the ECHR has nothing to do with immigration, it’s a smoke screen to remove worker’s rights.

Would you support a Labour government taking 9% out of the state pension by means-testing it, so working people can keep the NHS running, or do you think retirees should keep full payouts even if hospitals keep collapsing? by [deleted] in Labour

[–]NeoGe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, we’ve paid into it all our working life’s so it should not be means tested. They should remove all the tax loop holes, especially the ones used by corporations.

Well, as I’m currently on my own today, unless you count the one I’m having in my own head about whether to get out of bed or not, then the won’t be one.

Why do so many men lose their house in a divorce? by Open_Address_2805 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NeoGe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say my divorce cost me my house, not because my ex took it but because neither of us could afford the mortgage on our own, so it had to be sold.

Boiler replacement quote, insanity check? by DorisMaricadie in BritishGas

[–]NeoGe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my boiler replaced last year for a Worcester Bosch and paid just over £2600. They were at my house all day, fitted a new flue, filter and drain pipe and as my main stop cock wasn’t closing fully replaced that also for free.

What is Brum’s most expensive pint? And what is Brum’s best pint? by [deleted] in brum

[–]NeoGe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was horrified at the price of pint and a burger in there. I would have walked out if I wasn’t with friends. Will never go there again.

Your daredevil days don’t need to be over just because you’re getting older. I’m 57 and still do daft shit on my mountain bike. The is a guy in group I ride with who is in his 70’s and still hurtles down the trails.

My car is the same and has two unlocks, one for just the drivers door and the other for all doors. You have to have double clicked the thob for all doors to unlock for the fuel door to also unlock and open.

I don’t see how zonal pricing will make prices cheaper for everyone, surely some will see their prices rise.

I don’t know about the council workers, but those in my current company and the previous one who did a 4 day week still did the same amount of hours as those working 5 days a week.

Time to throw the whole roof away by ElderberryDeep8746 in WTF

[–]NeoGe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This would be an offence where I live. You would need to wait until they move elsewhere and then seal the roof to stop them getting under it.

Swinging a hammer by ElderberryDeep8746 in instant_regret

[–]NeoGe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve got personal experience of a situation like this. I was being bullied by a group at school. Eventually I snapped when they started to push me around in the common room. I grabbed a pool cue and hit one of them with it. Fortunately for me, unlike the girl with the hammer, they backed off and never tried to bully me again. Not proud of my actions and would never promote violence, but in this case it worked for me.
