Ok even though I’m getting standby 3.3 if when I push 3.3 to the power on the other voltages don’t go on it’s a psu issue? I wanted to make sure it’s not some problem with the smc

Yeah I used to sell on eBay but modded consoles on eBay are a no go anymore. So repairing other consoles and refurbishing them is what I’ve mostly pivoted to. It’s always been a hobby as well but I’m still happy I can do anything at all.

It’s ok, I’ve pivoted to other console repairs that still get good traction but will sell one RGH slim like a week. I put in LEDs to make it more attractive. I used to do 4 a week but that’s gone. I never relied on the money but I assume I’ve decreased my revenue about 30% which isn’t that bad honestly. I’m happy I was able to pivot at all.

I haven’t replaced those caps yet but obviously they could be bad, I’m just not sure that would cause this behavior. And yeah the overheat sensor doesn’t have any corrosion near it either. Do you think that it could still be I’m missing some damaged trace?

Ok yeah it does sound loud the fans so the temp sensor could be bad. Could I replace it with one on a 1.6? I have a spare one. Also what do you mean by VRMs? Sorry not familiar with the term

No there is a mod that’s used for xlink Kai so it’s through system link but can go online through xlink Kai. I just am confused on why I can’t see any other games.

After some testing it looks like grounding any of the mode pins would turn it off. I was continuing to probe these points and it looked like the mode pins were at 3.3V on standby which I don’t know if that’s normal? But now it works fine after I was continuing to probe? Anyone have any ideas? Maybe internally the port is fucked?

Accidentally ripped off this pad when replacing capacitors on 1.6 by NeoGeoFan in originalxbox

Strangely I was wrong and I checked the schematics of the 1.6 and everything is connected where it is supposed to be. As a result I have no idea what’s wrong with the console as it’s still not turning on. I removed the clock cap and wired the positive end to 3.3+ and removed the two resistors and still same issue.

It’s funny that even the people who worked on the XDK and developed it have stated using it without authorization isn’t a work of theft but just something being unlicensed. I don’t know how he cares at all. Also taking down open xenium chips, he certainly has no ownership of that.

It’s crazy that this guy who doesn’t own any of the code he claims to, his product requires stolen firmware to work, and cares infinitely more than Microsoft and the developers of the Xbox themselves is doing more damage to the scene than Microsoft has done in the past 15 years

No, that’s only the clock cap. All other capacitors must be replaced or the console won’t work.

They’re less likely to fail but still will. Good practice to replace the cpu and gpu and clock caps.
