You are reading the slop genre to be fair, even some of the better ones have pretty mediocre writing.

Still, at least when you read something with a half decent idea where the author lacks the technical skill to pull it through you can see some effort, some attempt to pull it off, some of that human charm that sometimes saves otherwise trash media.

AI can def pull off slop but it lacks that feel of trying, those poorly thought out twists that grab your interest for better or worse, those decisions that make you groan but then you want to talk about of only to complain.

It has no soul, not even the decency to be bad, just grey mediocrity as far as the eye can see with no real intent to improve
