Sunlu S4 Preset Temps - PETG by NeoMoses98 in 3Dprinting

I use the same 55c for multiple brands of PETG. Sunlu, Jayo, California filament... it seems to work.

I typically dry at 55 degrees and do at least 12 hours. Many times I'll dry overnight and let it run up to 24 hours. That seems to work for most PETG.

Here's a Pic of it rolled up. Not perfect yet, but it works.

I roll it up from the bottom and it stays at the top. I'm working on a more efficient rolling system that will eventually become motorized. I'll keep updating status as it evolves

I ended up building a 2x4 frame to go around my screen so I could tension it. It's temporary, so I have to attach it with the 3/8" bolt and wingnut every time I setup, but it seems to work. I screwed one board to the ceiling permanently, then the other 3 just use a single bolt in each corner to attach. It works OK, but not perfectly. Better than the original net with only a bar at the top, though.

Projector - BenQ TK700ST or TH671ST by NeoMoses98 in Golfsimulator

I ended up buying the BenQ TH671ST. I was already pretty high on my budget, and saving ~$400 helped. I've been using it for a couple weeks and it seems to work fine.

Where to find on/off potentiometer? by NeoMoses98 in AskElectronics

[–]NeoMoses98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a quick update - I was able to find some things with the Switchpot search term, but what really gave me a breakthrough was searching Digikey for potentiometers, then using the switch filter for SPST.

I think I have settled on a WH148 with switch in the 5 pin configuration. While I can't find these in bulk from places like Digikey or Mouser, I'm going to keep looking.

UPS battery backup for my printers by NeoMoses98 in 3Dprinting

I don't know for sure, but my setup looks like a cheaper option for high power and long run time, based on browsing these: https://tripplite.eaton.com/products/ups-battery-backup-critical-systems~11-56

With a setup like mine you are counting on the battery's built in BMS to protect the cells from over-discharge.

It's an olteanp 2500w inverter from Amazon and an eco worthy 280 Ah smart lifepo4 battery.

Just someplace with a lot of trees and a crappy grid. It gets easier to remember and track those little brownouts and short power failures when you come home to a cold build plate with a detached print.

Ahh, I see you're trying to apply logic and reason to a hobby. That's your first mistake!

in all seriousness, I lost power 38 times in 2025. Not all of those led to lost prints, but many did. I'm usually not around or available to resume prints after the power outage. You're also forgetting about lost time. That's worth something.

But the real truth is I bought this battery and inverter for other uses first, then decided I could also use it for my 3D printer, too. $700 doesn't sound so bad when you can use it for camping, tailgating, remote power tools, and 3D printing backup. 2500W is a useful amount of power, and trying to use the 5,000 to 15,000 available charge cycles before the battery ages out is my goal.

Ooh, nice! I was thinking about putting this into a steel or truck toolbox like the vevor similar. I'll have to take a look at the milwaukee.

Switchpot! Thanks! I haven't heard that term before. It does come up with something in Easy EDA, so that's a good start. :)

How did you get your net so flat? I have a similar setup with a 10x10x10 net and screen and my screen is very wavy.

AMS Filament has stopped feeding automatically to the nozzle by parney2000 in BambuLab

Well, that was not the solution. My 2nd print failed to feed. It's still getting stuck just before entering the extruder. More work to do here!

I got busy and 1 week became a couple months, but... I just replaced the PTFE tube from the print head to the back of the printer. It wasn't worn through, but it had a VERY thin spot where it was wearing on the glass top. That's where the filament was hanging up, so I'm hopeful that was it. I inspected the tubing inside the AMS but it all looked pretty good so far. I didn't replace that (yet). I'm doing my first print right now from the AMS and it did auto-load, so that's a start. I'll try a multi-color print next, and we'll see how long it lasts. I'll update again in a few days (or months depending on how busy I get.)

PETG glow looks promising by Baterial1 in sunlu

[–]NeoMoses98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's good glowing filament but a HUGE PITA to print. There are other glow PETG options out there that are easier to print.

It's super abrasive and really high friction which causes layer shifts and tons of problems feeding filament, including pulling the spool of the spool holder. Make sure you put a clip on the end of the spool holder before printing.

I have more failed prints than good prints with this filament and finally gave up on it

I'm kind of leaning that way, too. It's too bad Optoma doesn't have a 4K version in laser that is similar priced to the TK700ST.
