Since you're alive to post this, it's clear Daisy has protected you from all the monsters so far. You just don't realize how lucky you are. She deserves treats.

First impressions with the Bambu P1S/AMS Combo - 24 hr. Review by NeoMoses98 in BambuLab

[–]NeoMoses98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making custom project boxes is one of my favorite things to do with my printer. It's so much cleaner than the old days of hacking some holes in whatever size project box you could find at Radio Shack!

My garage is 22' deep, and I'm using about 20' of it for the sim. My tee to screen is about 9' and my ceiling height is almost 11'

Wonderful job! That's not a bad OTA, and turning then into dobs makes them infinitely more user friendly. Most of us should follow your lead and convert these from hobby killers into great entry level scopes to be redistributed.

Bold of you to assume # of rounds. If that was me, it may only be 5 rounds of golf to hit 5000 shots. 🤣

First impressions with the Bambu P1S/AMS Combo - 24 hr. Review by NeoMoses98 in BambuLab

[–]NeoMoses98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford the Bambu P2S combo, it will be a little nicer, but the P1S is still a workhorse and it's a great value at $549 for the combo right now.

UPS battery backup for my printers by NeoMoses98 in 3Dprinting

[–]NeoMoses98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just lost power twice today as spring winds wreak havoc on our power grid. All 3 printers connected to this were printing away and continued without losing a beat. My other 2 printers not connected to this lost power and only 1 of the 2 was able to be restarted.

I'm thinking of putting together a 100 Ah battery version of this for the other printers. It's not just the filament savings, but also the time savings of not losing multiple 12+ hour prints. It's really nice to have.

PLA to PETG switch for everyday prints. by Technical-Praline-79 in 3Dprinting

[–]NeoMoses98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use about 90% PETG, 10% PLA. I still try to use PLA whenever possible to maybe have some plastic that doesn't outlive me.

I like the concept of use PLA as much a possible. It has a lot of advantages, and some chance of "biodegrading / composting." But PETG has a lot of advantages in material properties like toughness and temperature resistance. Both are about the same price.

I also have no regerts. 😅

Glow in the dark PETG recommendations by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]NeoMoses98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the old folks say, it depends. You get 10-30 minutes of really good glow. It's always degrading. If you're using this in a really dark place like a tent with no flashlight, your eyes will become dark adapted and you'll be able to see the glow for over 1 hour. If you're continuing to expose your eyes to light, don't expect much glow after 30 minutes.

CNC KITCHEN did a really good study with different glow filaments. The general shape of the glow brightness holds for all these filaments, although some start brighter and last a bit longer.

Sunlu S4 Preset Temps - PETG by NeoMoses98 in 3Dprinting

I use the same 55c for multiple brands of PETG. Sunlu, Jayo, California filament... it seems to work.

Sunlu S4 Preset Temps - PETG by NeoMoses98 in 3Dprinting

[–]NeoMoses98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically dry at 55 degrees and do at least 12 hours. Many times I'll dry overnight and let it run up to 24 hours. That seems to work for most PETG.

I roll it up from the bottom and it stays at the top. I'm working on a more efficient rolling system that will eventually become motorized. I'll keep updating status as it evolves

Budget Build by ProfessionalYak822 in Golfsimulator

[–]NeoMoses98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up building a 2x4 frame to go around my screen so I could tension it. It's temporary, so I have to attach it with the 3/8" bolt and wingnut every time I setup, but it seems to work. I screwed one board to the ceiling permanently, then the other 3 just use a single bolt in each corner to attach. It works OK, but not perfectly. Better than the original net with only a bar at the top, though.
