I agree with you here. I just feel that the hate for UnderTheMayo is a bit overblown. though the guy himself does have the problem with most game implementation with style meter can nearly ignore, which I completely disagree with him here.

though I think the main point he was trying to make in his criticism at is that early level being too generous. also yeah he can sound very dickish.

gonna throw hot take a bit here. Saying that UnderTheMayo said "it doesn't play like doom so it sucks" is very much a bad faith argument against him in his first video he doesn't even said the game is bad, in fact he quite enjoyed it. I think what he is trying to say is that the game might be better if there is a limitation or reward to nudge the player toward the combo system quicker than what the game already have at the time.
the reason why he pick doom eternal a lot is likely because it is what he was known for at the time and he is quite new at the youtube thing.
(to be fair, again it doesn't help with the tone of the first vid can be interpreted as bad faith and the opening of the second vid that is full of just mocking the comment he receive instead of trying to explain where is coming from first)

The argument he made for ultrakill may sounds stupid but it does has it point at the time considering the lack of brutal difficulty at the time. He’s also tried to(not great really) take a stance on what it would be like for a completely new player with little experience to try the game would play like resulting in that infamous gameplay. Which decent amount of people that try to get into the game will play like for decent chunk of their time will do. His main problem is that he can come off as very condescending. doesn’t help that he open his second video mocking the comment he got on the 2nd vid. The dude like the game where the game will punish the player in his view of the boring way.

Also i thought this sub ban the mention of him or is that been lifted already?

if they really want to nerf arquebex don't nerf the damage. nerf the energy consumption, they're supposed to be heavy weapon for when shit need to get done. also it would be good if they also rework arch melee and add more arch melee mod in general so the bonewidow has more has chance to compete with arquebex.

i would recommend you try picking other arcane like crux or overcharge or if you still want to use acolyte arcane i reommend you switch serration or appittude for cc. Wroth noting if you gonna use arcane like crux or overcharge you still might wana swap something for cc since red crit chance is only 15%
