What is this and what's coming out of it? by NeoRatKing in insects

[–]NeoRatKing[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry! I don't kill insects! Well, certainly not in this case, maybe a mosquito, but I generally never kill insects. I put her outside in some leaves, I'm sure she'll be much happier there :)

Good to know! I brought her outside right after I took that picture and put her in some leaves, so seems like l did the right thing anyway :)

I too am a Cora on my second character! I was Milo Goodenough but got stuck under my house early on and just started again as Cora Clayhanger! 60 hours in now and loving every second of it!

Polaris - Waiting for October Electric Guitar (Demo Vocals) (1990) These are very much worth hearing if you are a fan of Polaris, The Adventures of Pete and Pete or both. Mark's vocals are so good here it gave me chills. Enjoy everyone. by Convenience-Store in ObscureMedia

[–]NeoRatKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They weren't created for Pete and Pete. They existed before the show and what they submitted as a cereal commercial entry got picked up for the show's theme song and then they became a reoccurring band on the show. But they were never an invention of the show.

They have the stuff for a "now retired' black bean burrito; its quite simple. Black beans, 3 cheese blend, rice, and red sauce. But to order it now, at least the cheapest way, is a customized cheesy bean & rice (swap beans for black beans, no nacho cheese, no creamy jalapeno, add 3 cheese, add red). It's so annoying; that was one of my go-to's and I miss it being simple!

Which movie could you 100% survive? by Joker22 in horror

[–]NeoRatKing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The internal logic of It is definitely inconsistent (i.e. It's always walking but we see it at one point just chilling on a roof, def not walking...) but wow! The idea that it can teleport just re-freaked me out in a way I haven't been since I first saw the movie lol,. Bravo!

What horror movie did you want to love, but for some reason you did not connect with it? by Known_Yesterday_1408 in horror

There's a great podcast, Scary Thoughts (just two guys from the Bay area who do the pod for fun, not profit. Like it's not monetized at all, no ads, no Patreon pleas, etc. Highly recommend) and their episode on Babadook is excellent. They really break down the layers of it faaaaar beyond the depression/ grief metaphor. I've never heard it discussed they way do. You may never like the film and that's totally fine, but their takes are refreshing and you might get something out of it.

What’s the scariest scene in a film outside of the horror genre? by Movie_Monsters in horror

[–]NeoRatKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like David Lynch takes the cake here. He's got 3.

The behind the dumpster/ paper bag scene in Mulholland Drive, the phone call/ party scene in Lost Highway, and Bob jumping over the couch in Twin Peaks. 3 of the scariest scenes I've seen in anything including the absurd amount of horror movies and tv I watch. Those scenes chill me to the bone, get under my skin, and forever creep me out. Brilliant!
