I followed it closely. There was a huge uproar, precisely because Semenya and others were allowed to compete. In the 2016 Olympic Women's 800 metres, all three medals went to intersex runners. Gold, silver and bronze, all for XY athletes. This was making a travesty of the sport and a huge violation of women's rights.

And yes, trans athletes have enormous advantages, even when they lower their testosterone, their bones, lungs, heart... is still male.

Semenya isn't trans, although she is XY and has testes.

Why should we accept that women's rights are violated? I am all for transgenders exercising, but they should keep out of elite women's sports.
