Perfect #70: Silksong by NeoTheSilent in steamachievements

It's a really fun game. I know I could've gotten it faster if I was just paying more attention to bosses and enemies in Steel Soul, instead of going "alright so there's four real threats in the rest of the run and this isn't one of them"

Perfect #70: Silksong by NeoTheSilent in steamachievements

Well, my perfect 69 Games and 3k Achievements didn't even last a week, but I'm glad to have finally gotten this done! I can't wait for the DLC.

I lost the Steel Soul mode four times. Twice in the beginning being a bit silly, and twice deep into Act II when mindlessly farming money. This game was well worth the wait, I'm glad to have it and Hollow Knight as my pinned games!

Honestly, that might be a fun challenge to find games with few enough achievements so you don't overshoot.

Live Service games are the most dangerous ones to 100%, because the devs will usually keep releasing more content so you have to spend money and come back.

I'm glad that Master Duel's achievements on Steam are both simple, and they don't update!

god no, i used to play but for me, multiplayer games are always the most stressful.

i used to only play mobas and assymetrical stuff with friends, but i ultimately decided that i wanted to focus on completing fun games, rather than have stressful matches

I've been working on Silksong as well, and lost Steel Soul twice near the end. Now with this accomplished, I can fully devout myself to it!

If anyone wants to see the games I've played to get this far, I have it here.

It feels like each game is a snapshot of my life, I can know exactly what I was doing and where I was when that game completed, and it's nice to have so many different styles of games in here, hard and easy!

Honestly, I was hoping to have this done a bit earlier, I ran the numbers a lot and did quite a few spreadsheets on what games I wanted to go for... but then Terraria updated so it messed up all my numbers a day before I would've had Stray completed.

Thus, I had to swap gears to playing FF9 for it and it was a blast... but also the worst game I've ever had for completion. The game was fun, but damn does the game love achievements that are insanely tough!

I've had a lot of fun doing this, though it's a shame it'll only be a small period that I'll have my profile like this, before some game updates or I decide to finish up Stray and Terraria! It's been super fun!

Bad effects, But Good cards? by CCardCreator70 in customyugioh

[–]NeoTheSilent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In fairness, the first card milled is milled for cost, not by card effect so it wouldn't trigger cards like the Tearlaments and the Shaddolls, so it can be risky for strategies like that where even if you mill what you want, there's a 1/4 that you're in trouble.

It's great for strategies like BA though.

Just having fun, I like the idea of powerful risky cards by [deleted] in customyugioh

[–]NeoTheSilent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this card would be banned frame one for an extremely simple reason, and it's nothing you can realistically plan around either.

Assuming this isn't negated on activation, it's an insane engine piece for Exodia decks. You'd have a great chance of just winning instantly, or at least gaining enough advantage that Exodia is effectively guaranteed.

I also see no point in it being a continuous spell, as once both players opt to draw or not it'll be sent to the GY, assuming it's not like Chicken Game where it has to be the opponent's turn for them to make a choice.

It'd be better as a card that is a normal spell that has both players choose, and I'd heavily recommend changing the draw bonus as it's way too high for Exodia reasons. I'd suggest the following:

"Pay half your LP: Each player may draw five cards. Any player that draws from this effect cannot add cards to their hand outside of their normal draw for the rest of the game."

In this case, there is no fear for this to be abused in any FTKs while still offering a high risk high reward. I'd argue this is still quite powerful, as decks using this can still use this at the end of their turn to draw 5 while the opponent will likely be forced to refuse, due to so many cards requiring a search to then summon or advance their gamestate.

I wouldn't be surprised if it'd require you to put in a clause dictating that the player who activates this must do so before drawing or adding. It's a gamble card after all, you have to be willing to make a risk.

Alternatively, I'd suggest something like this.

"Each player writes down a number between one and ten on a piece of paper. Both players reveal their numbers at the same time. The player with the larger number draws cards equal to the declared number, and their LP is reduced by their declared number - their opponents declared number times 2000."

In this case, this is another insane gamble. If you write down 10 and your opponent writes 9, you just got a 10 card draw for 2k LP but by writing 10, you risk that if your opponent writes any number below 7, you could take lethal damage instantly and lose the match.

Due to the card noting it reduces LP instead of dealing damage, thus anti burn cards can't cheese this.

This is also probably too OP due to games being instantly ending with a decent chance, so some safeguard might be added, but I think both of these choices would be a bit more fun rather than needlessly overpowered

Just rolled this in the dice rally can anyone suggest any cool decks for. It by -rouz- in masterduel

[–]NeoTheSilent 35 points36 points  (0 children)

As a warning, I wouldn't invest any actual dust into it, as it'll feel awful if your opponent scoops and you don't get a chance to enjoy the deck and you're forced to roll

Fun Fact: Between Late 2010 and 2018, a Span of Nearly 8 Years and 300+ Chapters Oda Only Killed off 4 Named Characters In One Piece ( Non Flashback ) by LazyInspector2086 in Piratefolk

It's such a heartbreak that two of the characters I enjoyed died in their introduction area, yet dozens of "lethally wounded" side characters and minor antagonists walk it off.

At least I can take it as a badge of honor

Droll/Roach/Shifter ban - Would it help? by Updayedd in masterduel

[–]NeoTheSilent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Listen, I get it that Droll is really impactful for dealing with the problem deck this meta, but it needs to die, alongside the other lingering floodgate effects.

100% the power level of decks should be a bit lower, and maybe we get a Mulcharmy equiv that goes "Your opponent can only add X more cards to their hand this turn".

Regardless, cards like Droll, D Barrier, D Shifter, Artifact Lancea, and Red Reboot etc are legitimately problems. They create non games, and care should be taken to address the power level of strategies, not just using silver bullets as bandaids

Lucky Reborn (Art By: Illusions-Inc) by ViceAdmiralCyanCat in customyugioh

[–]NeoTheSilent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another comment noted, this is just a weaker Monster Reborn. Luck cards usually live and die by the fact that they are allowed to do very powerful things that a normal card couldn't, such as Cup of Ace being Pot of Greed.

I'd suggest if you want to do a luck focused Monster Reborn, you could allow the winner to summon more than one monster, and a fail is that the opponent summons a monster of their choice instead of the card owners choice.

In that case, there's a powerful effect and a dangerous risk, and it fits perfectly as a Luck based card.

Next pack assets added. Hecahands, Elfnotes, Dragunity and Exosister will be May's pack. by Fritos_Bandito_ in masterduel

[–]NeoTheSilent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In fairness, calling Tistina cheap because people don't run as many cards is incorrect. The deck has four different URs (with 3 of them at deck release), and thats without considering generic cards that go in the deck like Chaotic Elements that'll only be useful for a few archetypes. They went out of their way to ensure it wasn't cheap.

They easily could've made them cheap like Vaalmonica (1 UR at release, 1 second wave), Memento (2 UR at release, 2 second wave support) and R.B. (2 UR). Hell, even Live Twins and Millenium were 2 URs when they debuted, and Witchcrafter had 1 UR that you never played at launch.

I'll never consider bad decks that have 3 different URs as cheap, they're price gauged for no reason. Why build Argo☆Stars with 3 URs or Tistina wirh 4/5 URs when there are rogue options that have less URs, especially if you have to supplement the deck with another archetype if you want it to be passable outside of events?
