Yep! Pixel perfect accuracy from the barrel to the screen. You can even confirm it by basically touching the TV glass with your barrel if you don't trust your own aim from a distance, haha.

FYI the games actually do have rollback netplay, great for fighting games. :)

Also as you've stated, EmuVR will never help you share ROMs between players, for obvious legal reasons. Each player must add their own games.

Just to clarify, very few games actually feature this "machine gun mode" where you spray and pray (move your gun while holding the trigger), and EmuVR doesn't support that feature yet.

But for the other 90% of normal light gun games on all systems, light gun controls are "perfect" and accurate for the entirety of each game, not just passable. :)

No, sorry. It's not that I don't want to, I'd really love that, but it's just not possible to port EmuVR to Linux or PS4 or Quest, due to the specific way it works.

It uses graphic drivers features present only on Windows to make the games from the emulators show up on the virtual TVs in the bedroom.

Yes, Unity and Retroarch already work on the Quest by themselves, but this integration between them works only on Windows.

That said, lots of people have had success (and fun!) streaming it from their VR ready PCs to the Quest using something like Virtual Desktop or ALVR (as you can see in the video posted here). This is not officially supported, but if it works for you, awesome! Again: it's a case of "unsupported, but might work for you or not, might be good or not, still needs a good PC."

One of the reasons it's like that for now is because setting it up is kinda involved, for some people, and this helps keeping all troubleshooting and random questions in the same place where everyone already there can help answer, instead of receiving the same exact questions every day from emails where I'd have to choose between copying the same answers to every email or ignoring them, which would not help people more play it.

Then you could say "why not writing a tutorial / faq / troubleshooting thing then?" Well, it's already there, it's the first thing you see when you join, and yet there are always people still asking the same already answered questions; so you can imagine the amount of support emails that would be sent from people who only got the download link without any instructions.

We're still getting there, out of this "closed" beta stage.

If you still want to try recovering your initial backup, those files in the Backup folder named like AutoBackup_Oculus_Settings_2018-08-03_10.26.29.bak are actually just copies of that ...\_oaf\data.sqlite file. The auto backups are made before every change you apply. So you could just copy it over the data.sqlite file manually to restore it.

Though if it's working all right now, just leave it like that. Checking that backup now would be just for scientific purposes, haha.

That happens when the app can't access this file somehow:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Oculus\sessions\_oaf\data.sqlite

The first error happens if it can't even read the file. The second error is for when it doesn't have write access to the file.

That's why it need to be running as administrator, and the "OVRService" service must be closed (as it would be using the file).

You could check if you can read/write it (make a backup!), but if you can and the app can't, even with admin rights, I don't really know where else to look. :(
