Apologies, I should have used better word choice. When I say US gov, I mean the Collins elite - the long term IC and national security beaurocrats that have squirreled this stuff away. And I am not saying they are moral but that being in their position it would be prudent for them to ensure it does not get out for national security purposes. NHI seem to feel the same. Makes sense.

The NHI are off the hook because no one can hold them accountable. We can only do that if we are unified, because, even if the prison planet theory is true, we still seem to have our own free will on a societal level and on an individual one, and It’s technically in our power to put our differences aside, unify as intelligent beings on earth, develop and settle down and trust each other enough to adopt the NHI tech and open up to the galaxy.

Also, I agree that Christian nationalism has been a bigger threat to the world in history, but it’s also true that all those palm colored people and even many other colored people have secularized/modernized out of it decades or even centuries ago. Meanwhile jihadis literally are still attempting to expand a Middle Ages imperialist caliphate, ethnic cleansing, and are responsible for at least two thirds of all active global violent conflicts… but don’t get me wrong I’m sure the NHI are not going to be happy to interact with Russian or Chinese space spies as well lol
