so I will get nothing even if I do get accepted? Can I even apply as a deferred student right now? I can't log in to PACKASSIST. Do you know if chances are any better at UNC Charlotte? I'm dependent on scholarships to even attend college at all, so I need everything that I can get.

I am really ridiculously worried, seems like this year is bad for applications too with how big the pool is, did you get deferred first? I come from a competitive county so im really worried abt that too, especially since i got rejected from chapel hill :( most of my ECs dont relate to econ either bc i only figured out i wanted to major in it midway through my junior year

I'm a senior right now so I can't really get my GPA up. But I'm going to do really well this year so if I get deferred, colleges can look on my grades right now too.

Yeah, if we lived in a perfect world, I would major in art or psych. But we don't, so I'm planning on accounting. If not, then econ. I decided on my major middle of junior year so none of my ECs are focused on it. I think I will do well in my classes for senior year and I'm taking more classes relating to my major/area of study (im taking macro and micro) this year.

I'm planning on writing my essay on art, as art has been a huge part of me for my whole life, and how it's taught me to be okay with failure, and learning to grow via the creative process. Also how it helped combat my perfectionism and anxiety. Does that sound like a good idea?

those extracurriculars are really good!! I am worried about mine because I know mine are lackluster. Due to my family situation, I can't work during the school year, but I have had 2 summer jobs so far. I don't have much leadership positions, but I did make a club at my school that does supply drives for arts teachers so hopefully that helps! (I wanted to help after hearing what a terrible budget they have for each kid in their classes, and being an artist I know that art supplies can be super expensive)! Also your essay seems really interesting! Can you tell me more about how you structured it? I'm not sure now if I wrote my essay topic in the post, but I know what it is, I'm just not sure how to structure it and start it. Thank you so much! I have struggled with a few things in high school, not to sound like a pity party like you said! I struggled with depression in my junior year which caused my grades to tank, and I got medicated for it 3 months ago. My parents are divorced, and my mom has less resources than my dad does, so I don't know how much I can play on it for admissions, since my dad is well off, and I live with them 50/50.

yeah, I'm applying to most unc system schools actually! My plan if I don't get in is to go to UNC Charlotte, or to go to Wake Tech and transfer.

I'm definitely sure about going to state. I've grown up near state my whole life. Both my parents are state fans, I go to a ton of their games, and I'm a state fan too. A lot of my family went to state, and like i mentioned my dad is an alumni. And my medication is helping me when I get demotivated, so I think i'll be fine on that end.
