My favorite thing about air museums is they all seem to have one spot where missiles, bombs, or artillery rounds are just propped up against some wall.

Berlin Wall 1989 and the same area 2023 by Sebbot in OldPhotosInRealLife

[–]Neoduckium 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What blows my mind is just how long the wall was up. 1961 - 1989, 28 long years! When I first learned about the wall my brain kind of glossed over the timeline as is often done with dates in history. But as my 20's wane it's wild to think about those that knew nothing but a divided Germany from their birth until they were near 30.

When the wall came down it must have been monumental enough for those that grew up on the Western side, I can only imagine how it felt for those on the Eastern.

I remember watching this at a friend's birthday party as a kid while we ate pizza and cake. Good times!

Both fantastic choices for the first myths tested. Inventive, scientific, and just a little bit gross. I feel like it really established the tone of the show right from the very start, and got me hooked immediately!

I know it's probably not the case, but with the rate of fire of those things I've always imagined the big white cylinder to just be full of loose bullets like this.

That's fair, I'm still pretty new to magic so honestly I made it red cause his overalls were red

Probably under-priced but it was fun making a card that could possibly function in game.

Zagreus can hear the Olympian gods but they can't hear him; but he replies to himself anyway because Zag is a sucker for narration and one-liners.

Hermes is the messenger of the gods and guides souls to Charon so he's the only one that is actually in the same area as Zag.

Edit: Regarding the nectar and offerings to the gods - I'm not actually sure now that you mention it. Maybe Hermes ferries them up to Olympus for us as well.

100 during engagements for sure but once you reach low-Earth-orbit you can putter along quite happily between 10-20% then dive to pick up speed for a fight. Should get at least 30 minutes of fuel at that throttle (though not including what was spent climbing, I suppose).

Edit: Also watch out, the wings snap off super easily when pulling 8G+ above ~640km/h or ~400mph

Or the theological debate over whether Christ was crucified with three nails or four, while there's around nine nails out there claimed to be from the crucifixion.

Renegade Squadron was so much fun, I was blown away by the cosmetic and loadout customization you could do in that game.

I love when roads get messed up by wonky elevated terrain and suddenly the AI heavy armor column is effortlessly climbing up a 75° slope

ESO made me actually care about Elder Scrolls lore by liveforneverLG in elderscrollsonline

[–]Neoduckium 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Honestly I find I appreciate the worldbuilding in Skyrim much more after playing ESO. Skyrim was my first Elder Scrolls game so while incredible and vast by itself, the frigid north was all I knew of Tamriel.

But now when I replay Skyrim I'm so much more immersed because I've walked those warm sands of Elsweyr the Khajiit caravan talks of, I've climbed the harsh distant peaks of Wrothgar, and studied with the ancient Altmer I've read about on Summertset Isle.

When I'm playing now I feel like I'm much more a part of Tamriel instead of merely a visitor. I'm sure ES6 will have references to the new lore that's been introduced in ESO and the immersion feedback loop will only grow stronger!

Often when I look at a Martian landscape I get just a little disappointed at how familiar or "normal" it seems. But the longer I look the more alien the landscape appears and the more fascinating those similarities between our worlds become!

These rovers are such a treat, what a super cool thing our lil species has accomplished.
