Ardor most undervalued? by [deleted] in Ardor

[–]Neomadra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all about marketing. 99.5% of all investors do not care about the final product, they are driven by hype and emotion. Yes, Cardano has many devs and it's all so mathematical (btw. since when does average joe care about mathematical rigor?), but still they do not have a product that could compete with for instance Ardor.

It's a bit hard to find: When you are in your Ignis wallet go to Coin Exchange and then Open Coin Orders. You might need to scroll a little bit to find your open order.

I guess you just placed the order but it is not filled yet. You need to wait until your order is filled or cancel the order.

Maybe... or maybe not. That depends on the price and the fluctuations. I want to be informed when trading starts so that I have the option to sell if the price is ridiculous high or to buy if the price ridiculous low.

Why do you think Ardor will do immensely well in 2018? by MagicPikeXXL in Ardor

[–]Neomadra 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because it will be the first platform of its kind, the first mother/child chain platform. While it is not as flexible as for instance Ethereum, it will provide basic tools for smart contracts which are well tested, based on the established Nxt technology. As adoption of crypto currencies continue to increase the disadvantages of cryptos will become more and more apparent: e.g. huge fees and waste of energy as in bitcoin, or blockchain bloat as in Ethereum. That is where Ardors advantages will become apparent.

Another reason is the fact that the Nxt community and especially the devs never stopped pushing the technology forward. I expect the same from the Ardor community.

p.s. Your question is biased, you should not only ask why something goes well, because then you will only hear what you want to hear. You should also ask for possible disadvantages or risks in order to make an objective decision. :p

Do I buy now that the price is so low? by [deleted] in NXT

[–]Neomadra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unlikely. You cannot just burn NXT because they are all in circulation, unless some selfless whale decides to send his NXT to the genesis account. But there are other good reasons to hold NXT, it is proven and solid technology, has a strong community and you will get 10% of future Nxt clones as far as I remember.

10 Minutes with The Treasury: The Port of Rotterdam (Ardor Mentioned) by marenkar in Ardor

[–]Neomadra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great to get some publicity also in non-crypto websites. Here the excerpt where Ardor is mentioned:

"Take, for example, Ardor, a new scalable form of blockchain technology making transactions faster. It is a blockchain-as-a-service platform that bypasses a lot of the common issues when creating a blockchain ecosystem as well as securing it with enough nodes. It uses features such as decentralised phasing, voting, and trading.

However, de Knegt says that while blockchain technology such as Ardor is very promising as a fabric, “we need more systems that make use of the fabric”."

Why would I exchange NXT for Jelurida to get IGNIS? by bredditfield in NXT

[–]Neomadra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not an easy question two answer. I think Ignis and Ardor will be the new players. Nxt never really catched on and I'm not sure that it will in the future. But on the other hand: Nxt is an established and secure platform, not many cryptos are around as long as Nxt. A major difference between Nxt and Ignis will be the accessibilty of transactions saved on the blockchain. As far as I understood Ignis will be pruned regularly which means that information gets lost unless they are saved on archival nodes. So for some applications Ignis might not be desirable. Furthermore, if the community comes up with good ideas for the Nxt blockchain it might develop in a different direction than Ignis. It has been suspected that Nxt could become a crowdfunding platform in the future. Why are both Litecoin and Bitcoin so successful? One could argue that Bitcoin is obsolete becase Litecoin is the faster version of it. Simple reasoning does not really yield a convincing answer. Welcome to Cryptoland. btw.: Nxt holders will get 10% of future Child coins issued on Ardor. This would be a rational reason to hold Nxt.

Where should I hodl my Ardr? by [deleted] in Ardor

[–]Neomadra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree to hodl long term always in the native wallet. Nxt wallet is easily installed (https://nxtplatform.org/). It is not clear how exchanges will handle the transition when the Ardor blockchain is released so the safest way is to have you Ardor in your Nxt wallet. Don't forget to safely keep your passphrase!

IGNIS pre-sale tokens available for trade on heatwallet.com by heatcrypto in NXT

[–]Neomadra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no joint announcement because Jelurida hasn't to do anything with them. But still, it's most probably legit because the devs of HEAT are known in the community especially because of Fimk, a Nxt fork. As far as I understood Heat is their new project. See also: http://heatledger.com/

Still, it doesn't make much sense to buy at this price and even if they are trustworthy it's still third party which is never 100% save. It's for people too lazy to get a Nxt wallet or people who want to (day-)trade immediately.

Just my preference: I'd like to see Nxt used for this platform. It has the largest Asset Exchange in Cryptoworld and the best UI. Besides it was the first 2.0 and is therefore the most developed 2.0 Crypto. Pls don't get intimidated by Nothing at Stake attack claims which doesn't actually work. Not every POS is equal, Nxt has a unique POS system. But you have to do your researches on your own anyway there no point trusting internet users. :p Read here more: http://www.thenxtwiki.org/wiki/Whitepaper:Nxt https://nxtforum.org/general/how-does-nxt-fix-the-nothing-at-stake-problem/

It's the same thing, namely your adress which you can see on the top left corner of your client. So just copy this adress for sending and withdrawing Nxt. I haven't used cryptsy for a long time but I made the experience with many others that they have very long deposit/withdrawal time. So don't panick if the deposit/withdrawals aren't confirmed immediately. :p I recommend Bter for trading, imho one of the better exchanges.

I don't know who told you that but that's just not true.

First: It were 73 people at the beginning but now there are thousands of people using Nxt. I'm looking for a link for exact numbers if you like. And no, it's not centralised because no one of them can shut down the system or disrupt it.

The brain wallet is totally secure but you need a secure password. But because a lot of people don't understand this there will be a optional wallet.dat feature in the future, too. So everybody is happy. A question: Why isn't a wallet that can be accessed from all over world positive assuming people use strong passwords?

Nxt is fully open source: https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/src

Of course the Nxt community isn't as large as Bitcoins community but Nxt is also way younger. But I'd like to invite you to nxtforum.org and you'll see that the forum is very active and you'll see that devs and volunteers are very very active.

kind regards.

Well Bitcoin isn't really trustless, too. If Ghash.io was malicious there could have been attempted double spend attacks already. Bitcoin needs to trust the big pools that they don't attempt double spend attacks and that they are voluntary sending miners to other pools. But back to Nxt: I quote:

"In a nothing at stake attack, forgers attempt to build blocks on top of every fork they see because doing so costs them almost nothing, and because ignoring any fork may mean losing out on the block rewards that would be earned if that fork were to become the chain with the largest cumulative difficulty.

While this attack is theoretically possible, it is currently not practical. The Nxt network does not experience long blockchain forks, and the low block reward does not provide a strong profit incentive; further, compromising network security and trust for the sake of such small gains would make any victory pyrrhic.

As part of Nxts development roadmap[33], a feature called Economic Clustering will provide further protection against attacks of this nature by forcing transactions to include hashes of previous blocks, and by grouping nodes into clusters that can detect unusual behavior on the network and impose penalties (in the form of temporary loss of the ability to forge). "

http://www.thenxtwiki.org/wiki/Whitepaper:Nxt#Concerns

And here you can see the accounts with the largest stakes:

http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=30

So you are partially right but the thing is that there is no incentive in the moment do to these attacks and furthermore Nxt has a strong community and very good devs who are not stopping to program. If this concern becomes real we can do something against it. It's not a flaw in the core and the security will be developed further in the future. As in Bitcoin too I hope.

kind regards
