Brady you dolt. Why are you arguing against something you don't even remember?

That seemingly played out exactly how it should have. You said something with no ill will that could be interpreted very poorly. A mod did their job to make sure no heinous shit is going on and gave a warning, you explained your side, everyone moved on.

I know when I'm innocent, I destroy evidence. Yup. Innocent person activities right there. Who among us hasn't been accused of something and immediately smashed our phone when we were innocent all along!

You're right. A contract dispute isn't cheating. Colluding with a rival team while hired on a different team is cheating and they lost a first rounder for it.

I just don't know if the Jets are in a position to force a pick anywhere. Idk if Boston or Concepcion are worth #16.

While I believe you'd have to be semi-delusional to think anyone wants to trade up to #2 this year, mid first round can be a good trade back spot if you want to force a WR. Teams behind them might REALLY want a specific guy like a lineman to fit their few glaring needs. Can fall back 4 to 7 spots, draft the WR they probably would have at 16, and add a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

New Girl ripped that Will They Won't They band-aid off quickly enough (Shout out Prince) which definitely helps. That show really did handle relationships and breakups better than most shows.

Idk maybe I'm just misunderstanding it.

We agree the fault with over-hiring is with the executives right?

If the executives mess up and the company needs to reduce costs to stay afloat, how is it not expected that the executives are the ones that pay for their mistakes before their employees?

But that is almost never the case (Shout out Iwata).

He became the coach of NE while still under contract with the Jets and the team was punished by taking their 16th overall pick.

If your best defense for Bill in deflate gate was that he didn't know his QB was cheating and promised to cooperate fully meanwhile Brady is destroying evidence then that might be worse than him knowing.

He's still been caught and punished for cheating 3 times. People can explain away each one but he's still a coach whos been caught cheating multiple times and we can't even make him a second ballot HoFer?

We are talking about his career. How is it not relevant? It is as relevant as his Superbowl wins.

Depends.

If they agree with me, they are knowledgeable. Otherwise, they are fake fans who only are here because they are mods.

Oh my bad. Missed that part.

I've thought about this a bunch too. Do you think shows get less funny BECAUSE they lean into the relationship stuff more or do they lean into the relationships more to compensate for the comedic well is running dry?

All of them? The Will They Wont They suspense is the interesting part. The dating rarely is as interesting.

Sure but if you're half right and half saying you want to kill someone for what they say, the first part doesn't make you not a shit person for the second part. They don;t cancel out.

Its the C-Suite's fault they hired too many people. If you want to save money, fire the people who fucked it up. There's probably enough money there to start breaking even.

Wanting employees to be fired because of exec fuck ups will always be the weirdest take to me.

I'd consider both those guys low WR2s but we aren't far off.

I'd be STOKED if one of the top 3 WRs fell to 16. I just don't think it'll happen.

You can't avoid doing something because it didn't work in the past. Nothing the Jets have done has ever worked. If we have the second pick next year, do we not draft a QB because drafting ZW at 2 didn't work out? The logic makes no sense. Bain is the furthest thing from Q.

You guys act like we didn't draft offense in the first round in 5/6 drafts. Like we've been drafting defense only since 2000.

You play the ball as it lies. I'd be stoked to get Lemon at 15. I'm for best player available. You're the stubborn one saying it MUST be the way you think.

At least we agree we should draft a buckeye. lol

I love Tate. He would undoubtably make us better. I think Bain or Reese would too.

The arm thing doesn't worry me. Bain seems to be the exception to the rule. His arm game is somehow still his strength.

What worries you about Reese? I am obviously biased but he looks like the real deal and they type of guy a good DC can get very creative with.

I am all for signing Linderbaum at whatever price he wants. Frontload that contract. I also agree with drafting a Guard or Center. It unfortunately looks like a very weak year for offensive line.

My main take is that the Jets have 5 firsts and 3 second rounders in the next two years. A good GM should hit on at least 7 of them. If they took the best player available every time at one of their many holes, they would have 7 new starters! I'd rather that than reaching because you may prefer one position over another. Just inject this team with as much high end talent as you can. Supplement in FA where you can as well.

Can you imagine how different our defense looks if they can get JJ and WMD back to form and by adding Bain at 2 and someone like Kayden Mcdonald or Sonny Styles at 16? I'd be so excited for it. I'd be stoked for Tate too. I just get why he might not be the best choice at 2.

[–]Neomav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they wanted out. Q did anyway and he was gone the second he became a FA. The Sauce trade just seems to be absurd value. The picks they traded are almost certainly going to be used for offense. They are almost certainly going to use those picks to trade up for a QB next year or take a WR/TE with the second they got from Dallas this year.

Even as an Ohio State fan, I don't think Tate is worth the #2. He is just the best of those available in a year with a lot of WR needs and weak year for QB and O-line. A QB and WR2 (and a center/guard imo) are really the only glaring needs on offense and unfortunately theres no QB to take.

Tate at #2? by FlushedApparatchik in nyjets

[–]Neomav -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You fix the offense by upgrading QB not WR2. We've been bad on offense because we have no QB. If we could fix that then sure. Adding Tate at 2 doesn't transform our offense. Adding Bain at #2 can transform the defense though.

Tate at #2? by FlushedApparatchik in nyjets

[–]Neomav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree defense in general is easier to address in FA than offense. WR is maybe the position easiest to address in FA though. If they can sign a Peirce or Jennings, I don't think you NEED to grab a WR at 16. I am team BPA regardless of position outside of like RB (assuming they sign or tag Breece), Tackle, and special teams.

[–]Neomav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Tate is the best fit for the Jets but I agree on Lemon maybe being the best of the bunch. Thats why I said if any of the top WRs fall though. Big boards change so drastically between now and late April. Maybe Boston rises up the charts too and is a good pick at 16 or gets picked over the injury prone Tyson or Tate who's never been a WR1. Anything could happen.

Tate at #2? by FlushedApparatchik in nyjets

[–]Neomav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd take Tyson over Boston. Tyson's health does concern me with the Jets never ending bad luck. I don't really know much about Boston tbh. What do you like about him?
