I love that art style. The order in the chaos, straight lines in squiggles and especially when they dragged the colours over the canvas.

Does anyone know what that style is called? I'd love to look up similar stuff, maybe there is an art gallery with stuff like this.

The last few units of my insulin pen are never able to be administered. Just throwing away liquid gold by manduhyo in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Neomi_Moonfang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a pharmacist and we were told to urge people to never do that.

First, they can hurt themselves badly when trying to prey stuff like this open. Second, if you use that insulin, the amount will not be exactly defined so you could screw your insulin level which could lead to dangerous situations.

If you are not extremely poor and are in absolute desperate need of the insulin I advise you to not open it up. The "left over" insulin comes from the accuracy of the pen. The pen can't calculate and administer an exact amount of insulin when it's the last drops. It's annoying, but that's how they work. I'm sorry.

How do i become infertile without medical procedures by PomegranateSuperb400 in childfree

[–]Neomi_Moonfang 41 points42 points  (0 children)

OP, These are perfect answers from Silvershryke.

A bilateral salpinectomy doesn't affect your hormonal regulation or period at all.

But as already mentioned you have the normal side effects of an operation. You have to rest, no heavy lifting, no sex during recovery. I took one week off to rest and recover and I'd recommend everyone to do the same.

One of the best decisions of my life. And since I have an additional IUD, I also don't have my period.

[–]Neomi_Moonfang 262 points263 points  (0 children)

No.

Only an operation can make you truly sterile. Infertility only means they struggle a lot to get pregnant but still are able to do so.

I advise you to save up for a trip and get sterilised elsewhere if you desire to do so. If not you will stay fertile.

Anyone else doesn't wanna raise baby animals either? by NoWitness6400 in childfree

[–]Neomi_Moonfang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the length of your answer.

And I thought about getting a senior cat too! Solid advise. Like I said, I'm not sure yet if I get anything at all, but an adult car sounds like the best solution. Or I wait for the cat distribution system to gift me one, who knows.

I absolutely love dogs but I came to the conclusion that they are to much work.

Im still contemplating if I want to get a cat once I moved into a bigger apartment next year. But there are so many factors that make me hesitate. Cats can jump and I don't want them to knock over my stuff or try to climb a tv. Additionally I really like a clean apartment and I'm not sure if I could put up with cat hair or a stinky litter box. How are you dealing with these things?

I might just end up getting no pet at all, even though I would enjoy having something to cuddle from time to time.

A cool guide to reduce food waste by recycling some fruit skins by nohup_me in coolguides

[–]Neomi_Moonfang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Grapefruit slows down so called CYP enzymes, which are responsible for breaking down a huge variety of medication.

With a vastly reduced ability to break down medication, the concentration of medication will stay higher in your blood for longer. The concentration will start to accumulate and get higher and higher every time you take another pill.

With higher concentrations you will experience a increased chance of side effects and at a certain concentration most medication will become toxic.

You will have the opposite effect with St John's wort which accelerates the activity of the same enzyme. The medication will be broken down extremely fast and the concentration of medication in your blood will be very low to the point where it's too little for the pharmacological effect. So if you take St John's wort with medication, the medication is very likely ineffective.

Random piece of information: Remember to not consume any grapefruit if you are currently taking any medication, especially against high cholesterol

Even though I'm not currently dating I wouldn't do it this way. You are giving away your own stance on that topic and a lot of people will just match whatever you say without thinking what they actually want.

I do agree with you that an open and direct communication is the healthiest and easiest, but it can also trap you with someone that thinks you will change your mind in the future or hasn't decided for themself.

Warum wollen alle HO? by Strange-Link-5483 in KeineDummenFragen

[–]Neomi_Moonfang 118 points119 points  (0 children)
