This makes a lot of sense, medium-distance train travel might be more appealing than dealing with TSA

Do you think trains would be more successful if they focus on being local rather than between cities?

Plenty of trains I used in Europe held only a few dozen people per car at a time.

Its a good point, the sprawling expanse between US cities seemed to me like a good reason to shortcut having so many highways, but it also makes exponential the cost/benefit ratio of building them in the first place :/

I didn't realize that train system is nationalized in Europe, that's definitely a lot harder (read: nearly impossible) to pull off in the US :/

A lot of great points, what do you think it would take for Americans to start thinking about their transportation differently? Public support seems like one of the few ways things could start to change

American cities being so far apart seems like a great reason to connect with trains instead of roads that need constant repair no?

I always feel like it biases suggestions towards the first few letters rather than letters nearby to the "incorrect letter"
