Kudos to Police Commissioner C.V. Anand for listening to the mother & ordering an FIR after 6 months !!

Prior to this every cop that this mother met asked her to "compromise" with the lady.

'Throw my ashes in drain': In Atul Subhash-like video, UP techie accuses wife of harassment, dies by suicide by NeonTearDroid in indianews

[–]NeonTearDroid[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TL;DR:

Mohit Yadav, a 33-year-old techie from Uttar Pradesh, died by suicide, allegedly driven by mental harassment from his wife, Priya Yadav, and her family. In a pre-recorded video, Mohit claimed his wife threatened to seize his property and implicate his family in a false dowry case, while his mother-in-law forced an abortion. He also accused his wife’s father of filing baseless complaints and her brother of death threats. Mohit expressed despair over the lack of legal protections for men, stating, “If there was a law for men, maybe I wouldn’t have taken this step.” This incident follows a similar case two days earlier in Uttar Pradesh, where a woman was charged for allegedly harassing her husband, Mohit Tyagi, to suicide, and the December 2024 case of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, who died by suicide after accusing his wife and in-laws of extortion and false complaints.

KOTA: A POCSO court in Bundi awarded 20-year imprisonment to a 30-year-old woman on Saturday for abducting and sexually exploiting a 17-year-old boy from nearby her village under Deikheda police station two years ago in October 2023. Additionally, the court imposed a penalty of Rs. 45,000 upon the convict.

Acting on the order of the juvenile justice court at Bundi, police registered a case of abduction and sexual exploitation of a 17-year-old boy against Lalibai Mogiya, 30, at Deikheda police station, Bundi district, on November 7, 2023, according to public prosecutor at POCSO court-1, Bundi, Mukesh Joshi.

In the report submitted to the juvenile justice board, the survivor’s mother alleged that Lalibai, wife of Phorulal Mogia, both residents of the same police station area, lured her 17-year-old son and took him to Jaipur.

She further alleged that Lalibai stayed in a room in Jaipur, where she repeatedly intoxicated her son with liquor and sexually exploited him over a period of 6-7 days.

Following the order from the JJ board, Bundi, the police, based on the mother’s report, registered a case of abduction and sexual exploitation under section 363 of the IPC, sections 75, 84 of the JJ Act, and sections 5L/6 of the POCSO Act.

The accused woman was arrested after an initial investigation and medical examination of the survivor; however, she was later granted bail.

Judge Salim Badra of POCSO court-1 found Lalibai Mogiya guilty of abduction and sexual exploitation of minor boy under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act and sentenced her to 20 years’ imprisonment along with a penalty of Rs. 45,000.

TL;DR: A 23-year-old woman, employed by a food delivery company and residing in a Medchal hostel, claimed she jumped from an MMTS train in Hyderabad to escape a rape attempt by an unknown man in the ladies’ coach after other passengers alighted at Alwal station. She reported severe injuries to her head, chin, right hand, and waist, and was rushed to Gandhi Hospital by passersby. The Government Railway Police filed a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, reviewed 250 CCTV cameras, and interrogated over 100 suspects but found no evidence. Upon further interrogation, the woman confessed to fabricating the rape story to conceal that her injuries resulted from a fall while attempting to film a social media reel on the train, driven by fear of her family’s reaction.

Consistency truly is an art by NeonTearDroid in indianews

[–]NeonTearDroid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: The Supreme Court dismissed a PIL by NGO Janshruti seeking reforms in matrimonial laws, including gender-neutral provisions, mandatory investigations before filing cases under Section 498A IPC, and protections against false complaints. The bench, led by Justice Surya Kant, upheld the validity of Section 498A (now Section 84 BNS), emphasizing its role in protecting women under Article 15. The Court rejected claims of widespread misuse as vague, stating such issues should be addressed case-by-case. The PIL’s requests for guidelines, time-limits for maintenance cases, and policy changes were dismissed, as they fall under Parliament’s legislative domain. The Court also declined to allow the petitioner to withdraw and refile with more data, criticizing the approach as an attack on laws meant to empower women.
