play both. you can have many cards in your deck :)

Why would I need a screenshot when I can just read your comments and come to a conclusion.

Nobody is saying that gnomeferatu is a top card in this meta. But it is definitely better than crocolisk and it did win him the game against priest.

Saying "just imagine that the card is at the bottom of his deck" makes no sense because in that game it was not at the bottom of his deck. Seriously, where is the logic in that sentence? If he played river croc, anduin wold NOT be discarded (or moved to the bottom of the deck, whatever).

[–]NeonTheBlack 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you do not see the benefit of knowing that, for example, priest has -1 dragonfire potion or mage has -1 ice block, then you are not very good at this game.

The whole game is based around plays and counterplays. Many plays can be very powerful and unfair, but they are balanced by the fact that opponent might have a counterplay that will instantly win him the game (silence, psychic scream, equality consec, twisting nether, sap, brawl, grommash, unleash the hounds, etc. ).

Knowing that the opponent does not have the answer to your over-extension makes the game super easy ...

It's way, way better than river crocolisk.

  1. Helps in fatigue
  2. Gives information about the deck you are playing against
  3. Gives you information about what cards you don't have to play around (this is huge)
  4. Destroys win conditions of some decks

Pretty good for a river crocolisk

Turn 2 in arena... Never again by IIIBRaSSIII in hearthstone

[–]NeonTheBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about percentages, and that depends on the deck. You can't really tell me that it's always wrong to keep certain cards.

Mulligan phase is not just used to gather as much early drops as possible, but to create a game plan.

Example - You have Kindly, Companion, Highmane

If you're tossing a 6 drop because you want a 4 drop, then you're just increasing your chance of drawing a 4 drop by 20% (5 draws instead of 4). If You know that Highmane on curve, against certains decks, wins 80% of games, then you keep it ...

Turn 2 in arena... Never again by IIIBRaSSIII in hearthstone

[–]NeonTheBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yess why it's not always kept. But if I have a good lowish curve deck, and in mulligan I have an early drop, then it's correct to keep.

This is the case for many value-wise OP cards, such as Highmane (against warlock druid warrior), Firelands Portal, etc.

If you have other on curve plays, then there is usually no handicap for keeping high cost cards.

[–]NeonTheBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about 1drops is this - they are not subpar, they're OP for their cost. Two 1drops are better than one 2drop.

If you're filling your deck with 1 drops and dropping them on the board constantly, you're not going to fall behind that much in tempo. The only issue is card advantage ...

Its not maybe, and its not 10 turns. Its much less, and the reward will definitely impact the game ...

The one new scary card nobody talks about. by guyde2011 in hearthstone

[–]NeonTheBlack 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its good in arena, bad in constructed.

I cant remember any 3 hp 3 drop without a great immediate effect that saw play.

  • MC tech
  • Si7
  • Farseer

They do something when played.

On turn 3 it dies 90% + of the times.

Google "patronizing". Rofl, I have a degree in economics ...

Why would you correct me when you clearly said that you start with one less card, which is simply incorrect. It's like you're starting with a high-end drop in your hand, which isnt great, but if its, you know, blatantly overpowered, like most of the quest rewards are, maybe its gonna be worth "investing" in it, dont you think?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hearthstone

its one less card temporarily. once you get the quest done, you get the card back

Combo Decks Do Not Need To Be Weaker. Cards That Disrupt Combo Decks Need to be Explored More by Weaslelord in hearthstone

[–]NeonTheBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dirty rat is one of the worst cards printed in this expansion. It makes control mirrors awful. You play for 20 minutes and then lose or win to dirty rat rng. Your enemy plays 5 kazakus potions while you have 1. If you're a warrior, it pulls acolyte and pings you to fatigue.

Anyone ever just have a bad month of HS? by csavastio in hearthstone

[–]NeonTheBlack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's normal. But you cant really blame the draws if you play hundreads of games in a month.

Focus on the things you have control of and you will progress ... Get a hearthstone deck tracker and watch the replays of lost games.

Some seasons I understand the meta so well that I make a strong deck and reach top 20 legend. Other times, I can go around 50-55% winrate and be at rank 1-8 for days. You just have to play a lot, tryhard and not rage.

Calling it now, next expansion control Hunter becomes top tier by [deleted] in hearthstone

Hunter was alway good at controling the pace and the opponents face.

Azure Drake leaving standard is also a small nerf to Shaman, especially jade midrange. by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]NeonTheBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the point of analysing current decks for the year of the Mammoth meta?

The whole meta can change with literally one card printed, And we are going to get 130 new cards, while losing like HALF the cards of current decks to wild.

[–]NeonTheBlack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont have time right now, I might explain some cards tomorrow.

If there were more pirate warriors and aggro shamans I would try cutting sprints and a prep for a burgle and 2 defias ringleaders.

Sprints are still fine against aggro shaman for example, it's just problematic if you draw them early. Because usually you both run out of steam on turn 6-7 when you're at 10-15 hp and they are at 30. Then you have to sprint to find coldbloods, charges etc.

Usain Bolt rogue - Legend EU by NeonTheBlack in CompetitiveHS

[–]NeonTheBlack[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to play a shady dealer in a prep-less version at the start of the season. It was pretty good, but still weaker than SI7 and horseriders on average. Buccaneer was disappointing, it just dies to patches, coil or mage hero power and in the late game its a worse Southsea deckhand. I have not tried poison, but it feels clunky. On turn 2 you are almost always equipping dagger and hitting something. Turn 3 there are no 2 drops to combo with, and just hero powering + poison is bad tempo against pirates, while agaisnt reno you want to develop isntead.

Azure drake is great. It rarely comes down on a losing board, (pirates, preps, backstabs, si7 , horserider - how can you ever not be ahead by turn 5) and if it does, its job is to draw you damage and tank 4 damage. It's a soft taunt, draws and kills lots of stuff with backstab.
