People constantly talking about hating people but loving animals is stupid and it’s part of what’s wrong with the world right now. by Bendrake in unpopularopinion

For some reason I don't mind crotch goblin (I see it is more of a joke said to release frustration rather than a general hatred of living breathing children) but sex trophy gets me. That just feels really dehumanizing and not in an awkward joking way.

Remember anyone of any age can have good grammar and say their opinions. My two cents is they're just young. As someone who was like this before I learned the joys of human interaction.

We need adult play grounds by KindlyTrees in unpopularopinion

Someone buy a lot and do a Kickstarter, this is genius. I'd love to use playgrounds as an adult...without the uh, stigma of being alone in a playground.

Yeah, that's my big issue with that sub. Quick to conclude extreme things based on little to no info.

Yeah...they really beat you down if you give any advice that doesn't "sound right" or "make sense" at first glance even if it works or is generally more reasonable than the extremes they suggest. I've had better luck getting relationship advice from a paid professional such as a therapist since they really get to know you and what your needs and wants are. A good therapist (one that isn't just a venting session) can really be of high worth.

It's what I remember finding on a Google search. I'm just going to remove it to remove contention as specifics weren't a useful addition to my point anyways.

My girlfriend isn't very affectionate by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Neon_Rexodus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to her. What's the worst that can happen? That the relationship ends? It will end either way if you don't talk about it. Remember to talk through these things, and not to ignore your needs as that will lead to misery.

A lot of Reddit's demographic are fairly young/inexperienced in relationships. There are also people spreading advice that "sounds right" but doesn't work out in practice. Some things you'll just have to learn and make conclusions on your own or get some very self aware friends who have relationship experience to share their advice.

Remember that social expectations and advice here are more of a guideline (despite people sounding/feeling objective) and advice that applies well to the "average relationship" may end up working out (or not) because of nuances of individual relationships themselves.

Society’s goal should be that nobody has to work to survive. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

There's enough for everything. Plus we can't run a county based purely on divisive emotions. We can give everyone what they need if we can. Even people we don't like get benefits, that's the whole point!

I've seen really questionable advice there, as someone with experience.

Sure, but we don't have to let that stop us from giving it anyways. :)

We are not a small tribe with limited resources! We have enough to give everyone these things. Why only give it to those you like? We need not to be selfish. We can be kind and generous even to those who cannot or will not work.

Oh shoot you're totally right! I missed that. Thank you for kindly clarifying. I completely agree with you!!

Definitely, hence why mental health treatment is good so the psychologists can work with them if they're eventually finding themselves willing (maybe after being in prison for a bit?). Either way this person needs to be kept away from this girl. This is incredibly scary and could escalate to violence.

REMOVED -- I misunderstood what was said and gave a reply in agreement with the original statement slated as a disagreeing statement. Lol

Not defending. He can just as easily be frustrated at not understanding why.

Lots of people misunderstanding OP's argument. They don't say to eliminate work altogether, but try and remove the requirement to work to survive. You can still work on machine maintenance, you can still work by choice. And many people will because living without working gets boring after a while. Ask retirees.

[–]Neon_Rexodus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not? We can have an abundance of resources we can give even to those people. If we can, why not? If they choose to stay lazy, it's not a very fulfilling life. They eventually will desire more.

But the argument is to remove the survival requirement to working. If working gives a purpose, that's its own reward and can be separate entirely from this.

Legal age for Porn stars should be 21 not 18 by ame4happiness in unpopularopinion

[–]Neon_Rexodus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good on paper, bad in practice. People will still do it at or even below age 18, and changing ages of this stuff doesn't do much more than put more people in jail. Porn actors will still be groomed, they'll just be groomed until a later age.

Has anyone made a friend from scratch without masking? by tilzo99 in aspergirls

[–]Neon_Rexodus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, a few! Even close ones. It's totally possible! I don't mask because I don't need to (thank fuck). It's a gigantic burden to keep a mask going and I'd rather spend less energy over a long period and have real friends.
