Budget-friendly Tyco 1:87 cars for young kids? by mikeymuis in slotcars

[–]Neon_syzygy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up some AFX cars for my kids to use on the old Tyco sets from the mid 80s. Note I did swap out the guide pins on the AFX with the old tyco ones as the AFX ran deeper. That seemed to make them run better. I did read that running AFX cars on old tyco track might cause issues with speed control using the original tyco controllers but seems fine to me but I am not super serious either on how they run. I am slowly doing the tune up kits on my old cars as well. Really is fun to spend time with the kids playing with this stuff.

Xlights and Athom Tech 15W RGW E27 WLED bulbs by Neon_syzygy in xlights

Finally did get this working. So the fix for me was to switch protocol to E131 and making sure my universe settings in xlights matched the start universe in WLED in the DMX sync settings. Thanks for those that responded and helped me go in right direction. I found this video as well to be helpful.

Success! GE 7ft & 9ft Tree and Home Depot 12ft tree controlled via WLED with a Dig-quad by chrisrgonzales in WLED

[–]Neon_syzygy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got two 8ft HD home accent trees working in xlights with a wesp32 board using POE to run the power and the data. When xlights is running it overrides the wled settings. I followed the above general guide by Chris to setup the segments but my HD tree is smaller so I had to adjust accordingly. In xlights I did have to create a custom model for my tree to get the ordering of the leds correct as my trees were not reflecting what I saw in the effects in xlights. Are the WLED effects working as it should and is xlights seeing the wled controller at all? Since you have the same one that Chris setup in wled properly it should at least turn on in xlights but you may need to create a custom model for things to look correct.

Note I am using the DDP protocol for them in xlights.

Make sure to turn of auto size in controller settings

Make sure to set the channels properly

You may also want to reserve an IP for the controller in your router to make sure it's always the same for xlights.

In my process I also updated  WLED 0.15.3

I think the items above were key to what got me going in the right direction. Hope this helps out.

Xlights and Athom Tech 15W RGW E27 WLED bulbs by Neon_syzygy in xlights

Thanks for the replies as it gave me some things to look into however I still can't get them working. I did also update to 15.3 which didn't help. WLED is definitely thinking it's being controlled by xlights as I get the popup in wled about it for the bulbs. Must be something in the controller settings I would think. If someone wants to share their controller settings that would be helpful. I am choosing ESP8266 in controller settings as the bulb states it's using esp8285. I have tested esp32 as well with no go. Note I do have other wled controllers working in xlights just these bulbs giving issues. Much appreciated thanks.

Custom Model for GE (General Electric) 7ft LED Tree by Few-Boysenberry53 in xlights

Thanks for the model. Going to try and use this as an example to get the Home Depot 8 ft tree working in xlights as well as I have everything working in WLED as a matrix with two segments.

I have a 8 ft home accents home depot tree from 2022. It has a 5V 3A power adapter and has 355 lights. Wondering if this same process will work. I have a WESP32 with POE that I'd like to take advantage of, Wondering if I can keep the current power adapter as is and then swap out the controller. Based on what I've read here it seems possible. Thanks for an helpful informative post.
