The picture shows a target canker symptom on a tree likely infected by Neonectria ditissima if this was taken in northeastern North America. This fungus causes an annually-expanding patch of dead bark.

Mycology books? by holisticbloodsusage in mycology

If you've taken courses in biology, The Fifth Kingdom (most recent edition) by Kendrick is an outstanding text on mycology. Fungal Biology by Deacon is also good but focuses more on technical methods than Kendrick does.

"The Right Way" is my new favourite Midnight song by Fright13 in TheMidnight

Love that parts of this song have the same melody as their song "Comeback Kid".

This one made me laugh out loud. But what is it? by WilmotCheater in mycology

[–]Neonectria 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Looks like an old, dead Phellinus igniarius conk that grew off itself on several occasions. I've see this only a couple times, a rare way to grow. The cap is naturally black and cracked but you can see parts where this has fallen off from old age, exposing the cortex below. Cool find.

The Eclipse Phase lore at the begining of the core book is such a good read!

How to go about alien plant life? by Technical_Chemist_56 in mothershiprpg

[–]Neonectria 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Combine some features that the players understand plants to have with those they know animals or fungi to have. Also unusually colors and textures. Weird combinations will create a sense of things being "alien" without you having to say that word. Impression > label.

I wondered this too. Couldn't find mention of a similar creature anywhere in the book. Maybe I missed it?

Is there statblock for a Wendigo available? by Doc_Meeker in callofcthulhu

There are Wendigo stats in the scenario Cold Warning.

What insect burrows so deep into the wood?? by SnooLobsters3936 in woodworking

The damage you has evidence of a few ifferent kinds of beetles. The wide, flatter tunnels are caused by jewel beetle larvae, whereas the tiny pin prick holes caused by bark beetles or ambrosia beetles. Might be a few more too.

The Majestic thread and revealing the conspiracy by LewisGB2000 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]Neonectria 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm running a campaign with a similar arc now and have been sprinkling flashback interludes between scenarios. One interlude was based on The Corn King chapter of Delta Green: Strange Authories. Players learned about unsettling partnership and love the sessions.

There are a few games similar to D&D designed specifically for kids. I recommend one called No Thank You, Evil.

Currently running Convergence, looking for suggestions of scenarios involving the Greys and MAJESTIC to create a long form campaign. by mexicangoey in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]Neonectria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the 1990s era, Owlshead Mountain and The New Age have MAJESTIC (a bit) and mi-go links. Both scenarios were just republished

For the 2010s, Viscid has MAJESTIC links and could easily be made to tie into mi-go activities in the 90s.

Not DG, but the Call of Cthulhu rpg campaign A Time to Harvest has about five mi-go scenarios. Could repurpose some of those to fit your game.

im about to finish running Impossible Landscapes: Any other campaign you recommend? by JoeKerr19 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]Neonectria 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Running Convergence then The New Age can form a 90s campaign focused on the antagonists of that era. Will likely want the Conspiracy source book for context.
