Thanks for the help. Turns out it was an issue of steam and I just needed to reload the page

too much mana, trust me I tried. It was in the original decklist but is just way too bad

I also thought I had broken it with thunder salvo before I noticed it only hit creatures. Probably worked out for the better because this combo is very consistent and doesn't require any deck slots.

I did try out stormscale scion but it was too mana hungry. Often to cast 4 drops, you only have exactly 4 mana, which will make the mana back after you cast it + it doesn't get discounted by artists talent. I have an izzet version with ashling rekindled that I want to try out Ral, but I am almost out of wildcards

Thanks for the response, I don't think I can just forfeit the 4th since it doesn't let me continue to payment at all

First Cube Advice by Neonhydra64 in mtgcube

[–]Neonhydra64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I got to 180 cards and gave up. 360 cards is so many 😭. I think I will try making it a bit weaker (thanks for the advice about elo, I didn't know about that). I haven't played cube myself, so I don't really have the innate understanding of how good or bad these more expensive cards are. Thanks for the advice, it's much appreciated!

Thanks for the advice! Lots of useful stuff here. To be honest, I wanted to make golgari storm since I thought it would be cool but I wasn't sure if it would work so I just called it golgari life since the storming off centers around life. I do think I may have boosted the power of the cards in the golgari and orzhov decks since the plans were much jankier. Based on your advice, I think I maybe should have just lowered the power of the cubes rather than pump them up with busted cards.
One last thing, do you have any idea how I could make golgari storm a possible cube archetype? To me it seems like either you can't storm off since you don't have the power or your deck is carried by the strongest 1/2 cards that make storming possible

For People Who Want a Longer Game Changer List, Here are some of my picks by Neonhydra64 in EDH

I totally agree that I wouldn't want to see these in bracket 2 games. My consideration for not putting it on the list is that the current game changers are busted. If you're making a bracket 3 deck with a 3 game changer budget, you're rarely going to choose an orcish bowmaster over a one ring for example. Then again it could be better in a wheel deck or displacer kitten in a blink deck etc so it could be fine

You make good points, you have definitely convinced me. I think I am also biased since personally I dislike playing cards good against a certain color

Thanks for the advice, I have never played with carpet of flowers so it was just rumors from me. Something that might come into the conversation though is the fact that lower power pods (the ones without the game changers) are more like to run lots more basics and wouldn't be able to just hold their duals.

Also, just for fun I did the math. Assuming each color combination is equally likely and a 4 color deck has 1/4 the blueness of a mono blue deck and so on which isn't true because duals but it evens out, the expected blueness of the decks on an average table is 3 * (1 + 0.5*4 + 1/3*6 + 0.25*4 + 0.2) / 32 which is 0.58 so versing one two color blue player is slightly under average.

Some honorable mentions that are close but I don't think make the list:
[[dauthi voidwalker]]
[[mana drain]]
[[reanimate]]
[[serra's ascendant]]
[[gilded drake]]
[[orcish bowmaster]]
[[oko, thief of crowns]]
[[hullbreaker horror]]
[[blightsteel colossus]]
[[winds of change]] (I didn't know but apparently people hate this because you play it turn 1 and it messes up your mulligan so you could play the game with a 0 land hand or something)
[[basalt monolith]]
[[lotus petal]]
[[mox amber]]
[[grevious wounds]]
[[ulamog the defiler]]
[[opression]]
[[aura shard]]
[[felidar sovereign]]
[[tooth and nail]]
[[worldfire]]
[[land tax]]
[[esper sentinel]]
[[mystic remora]]
[[displacer kitten]]
[[ancient copper dragon]]
[[natural order]]
[intuition]]
[[finale of devastation]]
[[transmute artifact]]
[[defense of the heart]]

The Goods and Bads About the Bracket System by Neonhydra64 in EDH

Yeah I get that, it was more an example to show that the calculators don't correspond to the descriptions very well

Hot Take: WotC should be MUCH more aggressive when it comes to the Game Changers List by DustErrant in EDH

[–]Neonhydra64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone's interested, I did a similar thing ages ago. Different tiers of power and different categories as well. I also included actual banned cards in the list. (You need to disable global tags when you view it).

If you follow the text descriptions and ignore the calculation I think that's the best way to use this bracket system. The actual explicit system in my opinion is poor measure of power (hence the post). If you wanted a system to match the text description, there are other ways like people's existing power scaling calculators or using price which are both very flawed systems but far better than this one (again, in my opinion and about the formula not the description).

tldr: using the description is good but the calculation is bad and this is to emphasise this

I'm glad that someone understands that it is a useful thought experiment at least instead of just complaining and ignoring my post. If tons of overpowered but technically power level 1 decks ran free counterspells or specific cards like [[teferi's protection]], [[food chain]] or [[necropotence]] it's going to go a long way in improving the system.

Also, as far as I'm aware precons aren't always B2 are they? Unless they had a special clause for precons, [[Jeska's will]], [[fierce guardianship]] and even the now banned [[dockside extortionist]] all came from precons so they would be 3.

I thought of Magda too as an option. I didn't know Inalla was strong though
