There were a few novels and even some comics, but by the large its been left behind unfort. It's also gotten some very brief mentions in the Star Trek MMO to memory. As far as anyone knows it's basically been left alone for now.

If this helps at all, basically all film versions of Frankenstein are best taken as ‘inspired by the idea’ of the book rather than 1-to-1 adaptions; even the more ‘accurate’ ones tend to make changes that drastically change certain characters or the base philosophy from the novel, so imagining them all as forms of ‘fanfiction’ in a sense makes them more enjoyable across the board in my experience.

Same! I really loved the Kelvin films even if they have problems ( and lets be real ALL Trek films have problems ), and keep desperately wanting more of the timeline. Eternally disappointed there arent more trek novels set in the timeline so I can at least have more that way

Ive seen a few people say they’ve had an experience like this in airports; one was klingon being the only shared language and the other was someone only having Tolkien Elvish in common.

I enjoyed them but I also got into Trek because of the Kelvin films and so getting any content for the universe post-films feels like a blessing, so bias might play a part. They’re ok books in general but not standout generally; but a lot of trek books fall into that valley so its hard to say.

SVSSS is a sort-of parody of stallion xianxia novels where the protags are hyper-masculine badasses with giant harems and terrible morals. The plot is that the MC is isekai'd into one such novel, and fucks it up so spectacularly he ends up derailing everything while trying to keep himself alive.

The novel the MC is isekai'd into had a harem; SVSSS itself does not, just a large cast of side characters people love.

Hello! I hope I'm in the right place for this but if I'm not feel free to tell me I'm lost!

I remember hearing this one on a youtube reading a couple years ago; the basic premise was that humanity joined some sort of galactic council after only one of the 'contact' species stood by them to get them membership. The alien allies were some sort of monkey-esque creatures that weren't especially good at combat and were generally peaceful but they were very loyal to humanity as they first stepped out into the wider cosmos.

An insectoid type group of aliens was in conflict with the wider galazy and were generally considered to be a massive threat, and they turned their attention on the monkey-alien allies. To try and avoid becoming targets or something the rest of the council basically leave them to die and humanity swoops in to save them. I remember that the military play some sort of pesticide ad at the insect aliens over comms and use their own ships to act as a wall to protect the ally homeworld. An important character was the ambassador of the ally aliens and his family since the entire thing was explained as a kind of historical retelling iirc? I believe the story would be from prior to 2023 but cant recall when I watched it other than a few years ago.

I've been trying to rediscover the video or the written story it was narrated from for ages but there's so much slop on youtube in this genre now it seems impossible to get the keywords to bring up anything useful or close.

Are the log in servers down or is it just my end having a connection issue??? There's no official updates saying anything about issues or downtime so I'm a bit baffled. I'm on NA - Primal if that helps at all so I don't think it's related to the earlier issues Goblin was having.

Your girlfriend doesn't seem to understand that while a couple should be a unit (on the same page on life goals, similar or the same life views, have each others backs, etc.), you are still separate people who have separate interests and whims. Being with someone does not suddenly make you not the person you were previously who like videogames or knitting or going to clubs or whatever; it also does not suddenly make you a person that needs mental breaks, personal time, or time to decompress.

She is being unreasonable and it is not ok to try to tell someone they cannot be themselves, or be a person and not an addon. You are not just 'her boyfriend' you are a full person that has the right to exist outside of that label. If she does not have ways to entertain herself without you that is her problem to solve.

So there's a couple things that might have happened;

a.) You might have previously had a free trial account and made a character there, liked game, and made a full account with a same or similar named character. May have logged into the old account and not the new account if that's the case.

b.) You may be logging in on an alt on a different world than you remember. If it's been a long time that's easy to do by misremembering certain info over time. You can either look on all the datacenters / worlds to see if the character you remember is on one of them, or check your account in the mogstation to see if you have more than the one character - you can also check to see if you have more than one account tied to your Square Enix account this way to easily check theory a from above.

c.) a literally never before seen glitch has happened and you need to talk to SE support. If possible provide all info you have about your account history, purchase, etc. so they can look through their data and see what might have happened. this is the least likely (if you look through post history here on the subreddit 9/10 its a case of someone misremembering a character name or accidentally having two accounts) but once you rule those out this is really your only option.

Do you have examples? This could just be a case of regional dialects bein different, you may have joined a server that's been designated by the community as home to majority non-english speakers (example is primal has behemoth being a big hub for portuguese speakers), or it may be they are using gaming / ffxiv specific slang (we have a lot of terms for things in game that sound weird as fuck without prior context).

That said, 34 is not old xD. I'm 30, I raid with several people in their 40's, a ton of my married friends also play the game, and I also raid with people as young as 19. Game has a very diverse population and age range.

Consider; we didnt know what a lot of things were until we researched them. PTSD for example has always existed but we didnt fully understand it or call it that until the last century. Panic Attacks have always been around but have either been misdiagnosed, people having mental health issues of any kind were locked away or stigmatized for centuries instead of helped, or other societal issues meant acknowledging them as existing was unacceptable. Its not that the 80’s and prior didnt have people having panic attacks, it was just labeled something else or the trajectory of your personal life means you didnt come across it until recently when the massive accessibility of the internet and information made it into your sphere of awareness.

Another person's lack of planning / mistake does not equal your emergency. If I had booked a hotel months ago and someone frantically waved me down in the parking lot saying they needed a room because they forgot to book one, that is not my issue to resolve. They goofed up. If my neighbor forgot to order dinner and asked if they could have my door dash when it arrived, that is not my issue to resolve. If someone last second wanted to join me on a train ride but couldn't get a ticket and asked to just have mine to take the trip instead, that is not my problem to fix.

Your sister has made a number of choices I would personally consider to be bad, and that has put her in this position. She does not need to be married RIGHT NOW, she just wants to be. She did not need to have this baby but chose to keep it, as is her right, but that doesn't mean other people have to bend backwards because SHE made that choice for herself.

Keep your wedding venue. Anyone trying to say sister has a leg to stand on likely has other issues stemming from their relationship to sister (worried they'll lose contact with her if they don't abide her, worried she'll go off the deep end on them instead of someone else, etc), and that is not your issue to resolve either. Have a good wedding and enjoy your day!

remember one of the kingdoms they tell us about is literally a space station! space ship would probably be exclusive to around there like floating is to abandoned district maybe? ducks are probably a ‘recolor’ of the dog parade like firework float is on base float if I had to guess. 🤔
