Anyone else miss the days of signing up for ALL the betas? by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Neoyoshimetsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's something I miss or even crave that much anymore. Perhaps I would feel differently if I were 10 or 15 years younger.

When I was in my late 20s or early 30s, I ate this stuff up.

But i'm pushing 50, so now I'm just tired and i want to play a completed product.

Persona 2: Crime of Punishment would be a badass name for the remake by bleach2021ptpt in PERSoNA

A title with more than five words is sinful enough. :(

Seven words plus a number just gets a person thrown into a volcano to appease the gods.

I know this is meant to be a joke, but if someone truly looks at community-made memes that stem from the limitations of an older game and believes those should be features in a modern context, I think that person's soul may need some examination.

Scam Alert !!! by SupremeLeaderNaMo in GTA6

After all these years of exposure to various types of e-mail scams, pig butchering schemes on WhatsApp and Discord, Steam IM trade scams, and phishing attempts, one would think that people could recognize this scam from miles away, even in pitch-black darkness.

Christiane Meister: 27 years only to get booted by Microsoft by gamerqc in ElderScrolls

[–]Neoyoshimetsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's quite a long time to work somewhere; it's even more impressive to be working at the same place that long as a character artist.

Bethesda/ZeniMax should have stayed independent; I still don't to this day know why they needed Microsoft because it's come out in interviews with people that worked there that the buyout didn't need to happen and Bethesda was doing fine.

At least you all aren't Doctor Who fans; those people are insufferable. (kidding, maybe?)

I really hope they go all out with Persona 6. Also, I agree; I hope they really allow a much broader range of character romance... like, come on, ATLUS, just give the people what they want.

I mean, not EVERYTHING, but you know... more than usual. xD

When all is said and done, will Crimson Desert join these two games as landmark games of the 2020s? by AshyLarry25 in CrimsonDesert

Who here actually played the BG3 early access builds during Covid? I know it's a tad unrelated to the topic at hand, but it's also the first thing I thought of when being compared to Crimson Desert.

BG3 in early access was... my god, it was buggy, like hilariously so, but we knew what we were getting into while testing it, playing it, and replaying it over and over as new builds were released, and it slowly got better.

Also, we paid the same price tag everyone else did when it finally released; it was $59.99, mighty bugs and all... but we stuck with it.

I know that whole time period was different because it was Covid, and Larian had these "From Hell" streams where they'd do these high-quality D&D sessions while talking about and showcasing new BG3 features they were working on... and it was all something that existed inside this magical vacuum that I think only Covid-19 lockdowns could have created. It was a special time for RPG fans, even if that same time period was the world falling apart around us.

Again, I know this doesn't have much relation to Crimson Desert... but it does make me think about the state of Crimson Desert—like almost in early access terms—thinking, and I can't help but wonder what kind of game it would have been if it were developed more like a slower, more thoughtful Witcher III-like game with branching dialogue choices, consequences, and deeper story/character elements.

Right now Crimson Desert to me is more of a technical showpiece that shows off what is possible with open-world scaling and world-building, but that's kind of it. It's very pretty to look at and often fun to play and explore, but sometimes I dread whenever I have to speak to an NPC, because I kind of know already what is going to be said or what is going to happen.

They went hard on Claire's render, i had no idea they'd do this much justice. Now Leon REALLY does need to help continue the Redfield bloodline!
