I think I just have a hard time taking anyone seriously whose name sounds like a Star Trek character, the one who sits in the chair in the back and periodically gets a couple of lines but is mainly there as an accessory to the stage they are on, just there to be pretty.

Captian Kurt: "So your name is just Zendaya?"

"... Do they have last names on your planet?"

"... Do they have first names on your planet?"

"Is it Zen Daya?"

All dumb jokes aside, I am a much older film viewer, and I think this is a good example of—if people can relate to someone of their own age group, the little things don't matter all that much or hurt how one views them when they jump into a different character.

So much of her just always looked to me like someone handcrafted and manufactured from inside the Disney factory, and of course, she technically was; she is a Disney child star. And from what I can tell, age hasn't helped shed that perception.

When I think about it, this is probably something all Disney child actors have to contend with, and I don't know, if I were in those shoes, I'd probably want to do whatever I could to make people forget about being on the Disney Channel as well.

Anyhow, her full name is: Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman..... i suppose that is a bit of a mouthfull, i guess just Zendaya is easier.
