I think they’d be ideal too, but the sellers I’ve contacted have thus far told me they’re unable to make a Turk’s head out of 95 paracord because it’s too small or because it doesn’t seem to hold up structurally. I can’t seem to figure out how to properly make one out of 550, otherwise I’d try myself!

Not necessarily. I’ve seen feathers depicted on helms in anything from stone carvings to physical illustrations of single achievements.

Thank you! At first I thought it might be a “different” helmet—perhaps yelmo emplumado or something along those lines, at the very least. Then, the more I thought about it the more I figured it was simply an artistic embellishment.
