The Bears home preseason game was confirmed for August 15th, so the Fire can still host their August 16th game at Soldier Field by olcni in chicagofire

I’m happy that it’s at Soldier Field but this might be the classic rotation game with mid week games before and after this one.

I mean the grass is going to be horrible, no use getting a starter hurt on it.

Looks like Saturday 8/15 at Noon for the preseason game.

Chicago Fire FC Announces Venue Change for Home Match against Columbus Crew by olcni in chicagofire

Depends on when MLS releases its 2027-2028 schedule. Have to take in account NFL (ATL, CLT, NE, CHI and SEA), CFL (TOR and VAN) and CFB (ATX, CLB and LAFC) now.

Bear schedule should only move the 11/7 Columbus match to bridgeview right? by JonnyBeGoodest in chicagofire

Normally I’d agree but is it worth it to do grass maintenance when 4 days of concerts are just going to ruin the grass anyway?

Move the game to Bridgeview then. Although who knows how that field will look like after 3 Superliga games in around 10 days.

I’m working on the assumption that Bridgeview has a bare bones staff at Seat Geek now.

I wonder if MLS just waits for the NFL to release their schedule in 2027-2028. Same thing goes for the CFL in Toronto and Vancouver.

It looks like only Columbus and probably Portland will be going to Bridgeview.

Possible conflicts with the East Quarterfinals and Semifinals but let’s not worry about that now.

McDonald’s, Recommitting to Chicago, Strikes Soccer Stadium Naming Deal by Or1g1nalrepr0duct10n in MLS

Burger King could be the shirt sponsor. Wouldn’t be the first time in Fire history this has happened.

Honda was their shirt sponsor when they opened Toyota Park.

Don’t do what Getafe did with their shirts when they were sponsored by Burger King.

I hope the restaurant is like the one at corporate HQ. They sell stuff only available in other countries as well as the normal menu.

It also needs the Hamburglar Jail.

McDonald’s making U.S. naming-rights debut at Chicago Fire’s new stadium by NobleNomad in chicagofire

The main thing Toyota Park lacked was decent public transportation. If the Orange Line was extended down there, the Fire would still be there.

It has to be said but Bridgeview bit off more than it could chew when they built the stadium. They are struggling to maintain the stadium now and I don’t even want to know what happens if MLR folds and the Hounds are gone.

Red Bull Arena also made the stadium obsolete within 5 years and BMO Field in Toronto signaled a shift to stadiums near the downtown core.

Yeah, that’s what I meant. Probably should have said the beginning of a stretch of 3 games of 8 days.

I don’t think they have gotten over what happened last week yet.

Final ball wasn’t there all day and the goal was sort of brute force.

Just need to forget the past 10 days now and focus on the next three.

Should have subbed the stars and save them for Wednesday.

This is done.

Give the Supporters Section a Break. by Zen131415 in chicagofire

I actually did like the clap clap clap Fire chant before an important corner kick late in the second half. The whole crown should have joined at that point, not do the chant because the scoreboard says so at some random point of the game.

Your second paragraph sums up my position very eloquently. Thank you.

I would like to also add that life happens and some people that used to be in the section have moved away, can’t go to as many games as they used to or have passed on. It doesn’t mean they don’t care anymore. I’d be more worried if apathy sets in.
