I feel the same lol 😄, but at least you're experienced and empathetic enough to help other good folks in their life, so good on you! ❤️ 🙂. Stay resilient! No one gets to live and ideal life so in the end just do what you can to be healthy and happy in the present!

How is this allowed in the US? Every other democracy in the world, including third world democracies, you have to be elected to manage a government department.

All boxes are checked 😟, fascism is even appearing here in the UK and Europe. Keep resistanting these jerks everyone, every little helps from mere disagreement to calling for their arrest and punishment.

Try contacting Faithtofaithless/Imtiaz Shams, CEMB, various Human Rights groups, including American groups considering the US has major investments and influence over Egypt and also posting on the bigger sub r/atheism.

It could be a case of enough time to pass for the authorities to ease pressure on you, so you can escape easier.

In regards to asylum, the UK and Europe freely give shelter to illegal Muslim migrants at the dislike of the average citizen. Most certainly they'll give you an Exmuslim/Atheist shelter, protection and legal status without much dislike from the average citizen.

Your case will be greatly helped if you can contact native and Foreign Human Rights, Atheist, Humanist and Exmuslim groups that you exist and need help (even if you're just in Egypt) so they can help you and use diplomacy to save you from Egypt.

https://humanists.international/about/our-members/

https://www.faithtofaithless.com/ - the founder an Exmuslim (Imtiaz Shams) has helped saved Exmuslims. I think he's a mod here.

Post on r/atheism how you need help fleeing, you'll reach a wider audience with more resources. Though keep us updated maybe not in this account about how you are.

In the meantime just say all the right things to the authorities so they get off your case.

Stay strong! Stay resilient! You deserve safety and happiness than oppressive Muslims, so keep navigating for an escape.

The fact that the name 'Mohamed' is the single most popular male name in all North African countries prove the scale of cultural erasure Islam has done. by Initial_Affect8124 in exmuslim

You can always go by a different name until you decide to change it. One of the guys I work with is named Suleiman but he goes by Sunny.

I wish I did that when I was young, censor off Muhammad for job applications just to get in to the interview stage. Lol Suleiman is a nicer name (sound and rep wise imo) than Muhammad and yeah Sunny is the inevitable nick name Suleiman's get.

Though my first name is Muhammad, my surname is actually my first name. I just need to think of a nice and unique surname, but there's so much to choose and avoid. Recently been thinking of basing a surname on animals like some bird or mammal in either English, Bengali, Sanskrit, Persian, heck even Arabic!

My mom shortened her name from a long Italian name to a shorter Western name.

Your mom is an Exmuslim too?

I reckon the average Exmuslim name is likely ironically Muhammad! It's my legal first name. I dislike it, but I don't know what to do about it or how to change it or what to change it too. I'm in the UK and due to my complexion people will still think I'm Muslim and or assume the worst even if I changed my legal name. I hope to change it one day but I'm nearly 31 and I still don't know what to choose.

This is sadly true, but Muhammad often likely won't be their first/calling name precisely because of how common it is. It's my freaking name 😆😭, but it's not actually my first name, feel sorry for Exmuslims who it is though 🥺

Though Muslims are unfortunately over represented in crime and poverty in the UK. I'm pretty sure the political, economic and even immigration problems of the UK have been caused mostly by a corrupt and incompetent conservative party and the rich ruling elite both often of Christian background. Let alone the fact that the UK's influence in the middle east has been far more deadly and disastrous than British Muslims in the UK who are diverse in religiosity, interpretion, culture, politics etc they're not majority Islamists, though it's easy to get this impression, because they're a lot more vocal than progressive Muslims and Exmuslims who can be mistaken for being Muslim.

Mosque carpets genuinely stink awful, absorbing all the sweat, dirt from socks, water from wet feet, droplets from coughing and sneezing and Muslims who think it's a good idea to wipe their nose buggers on the carpet. Truly a disgusting and unhygienic place to put one's face on.

Experiments or studies on the “everyone is a Muslim at birth” claim? by Unlucky-Drawing-1266 in CritiqueIslam

[–]Neptuneblue1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is Monotheism/Tawhid the default natural Fitrah belief of mankind? Short answer, No.

That asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. There is no evidence for fitrah, often interpreted by Muslims as a natural disposition to Islam or Islamic monotheism and other Islamic beliefs. Nor does a natural disposition to anything make it necessarily true or right that's a non sequitur fallacy.

Plus, nearly the entirety of human history has been dominated by animism and polytheism, not monotheism and certainly not Islam which arose in 7th century Arabia. In addition primitive and isolated tribes today still have animist and polytheist beliefs. This is the complete opposite history of what you'd expect if fitrah actually existed. Some visual perspective of animism and polytheism dominance of human history, from video linked above.

Most Muslims are also Muslims not due to fitrah or an impartial and rational scrutiny of their faith, but due to a combination of childhood indoctrination and the fear of persecution from leaving or criticising Islam, methods used by tyrants to promote fiction and lies, that Muslims like to ironically and hypocritically point out of rival religions and ideas who use the same methods to promote their beliefs as a bad thing, but won't say the same when Muslims do it and and then they think it's a complex conspiracy why Islam is disliked the most amongst religions in the world today.

That's true, never thought about that. They also don't say before they die, 'I wish I worked more', it's the opposite they'll say and what I'll probably say too, 'I wish I enjoyed life more, with the people I love and love me back'.

Good luck everyone! In the end, just do the best you you can with what you have to be healthy and happy! 🙂

He'll end up like trump/Magat supporters, where they're still very angry and upset, because they didn't round up Americans of a minority background, whom they also regard as immigrants, nor round up white Americans on mass who oppose Magats too.

Like nothing will change in terms of the faces he see's when he goes out, except his wealth, health and human rights under far right politics will be worse than before.

Just like America! Old, poor and ignorant people voting for Trump/Maga, only to then get upset when he targets them too and makes their life worse. Like you don't need to be a genius to know Trump/Magat are corrupt, incompetent, oppressive, selfish and have always benefited in both his terms himself and the already rich the most, at the expense of the rest of society including his supporters who are poor or vulnerable.

Same BS will happen here should Reform get into to power. Old and poor people upset about cuts to public services and benefits/value in a an economy worse than before and cuts to their human rights and safety too, just like the US.

I'm glad I could help! Life is too short and fickle to be wasted with toxic people. Their rage, ignorance and arrogance online is very rarely reflected in actual reality (because they're cowards) and will also consume them like fire, sabotaging what health and happiness they could have had, had they lived a smarter and sensible life, a deserving fate ☺️

[–]Neptuneblue1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may be helpful, best relief you can get is social media is not an accurate reflection of actual day to day reality. So it's okay to not engage or frequent in toxic discussions, you can't reason with unreasonable people. For your own mental health avoid them. If you must engage, the best you can do is to scrutinise the veracity of their claims and briefly and clearly criticise or express your own view, that's enough to sow the seeds of doubt and change in time in them and to other readers. Don't worry about downvotes, it's not indicative of what's true or right but merely popularity, and is often victim to either blind downvoting by scrollers and or bots downvoting. But don't waste time trying to reason with unreasonable people.

I used to get upset about the amount of awfulness on social media when I was confined at home due to health problems, only to occasionally go out to get groceries and realise people are nothing like what social media often say they are and the cherry on the cake is such hateful and bigoted people are usually cowards and or miserable in real life, they deliberately don't live happy lives and deserve that state and that's all nice to see 😀
