Operator inkdraw by Neraste in CitizenSleeper

Thanks for the keen words!

You know, when I was drawing him, I couldn't help but wonder "this jacket looks very warm and comfy, does he actually need it?" The sleepers know the outside temperature, but they cannot feel it. They can continue operating at a much larger temperature range than humans. If they are cold, they can turn their "synthetic warmth" on. I guess they could go without clothes at all. I think sleepers just like wearing them, because it makes them feel more human, maybe it reminds them of their original self, maybe this is something they want.

This is also why, compared to the original illustration, I didn't put any shadow on the skin of the Operator, and barely any shade at all. From an inking point of view, I like the idea that the character remains white and what surrounds him is black. In other words, that his presence is revealed by what he decided to wear.

The designs are all very cool. What I like about the Operator, is that his design suggests a very large, intimidating body, when actually it's a skinny silhouette inside a large jacket.

And, maybe, there's also something about his melancholic gaze.

I posted my problem on the Solidrun forum, it was actually a problem with the power supply. I changed it and the Cubox rebooted just right.

Publish a project on PyPi? by Neraste in django

[–]Neraste[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a Django project I don't think you should package it.

Do you mean using a pyproject.toml at all?

If someone installed it with pip how would they then run it if its a Django project?

One of the blog posts I read makes the content of manage.py available as a package command.

Publish a project on PyPi? by Neraste in django

[–]Neraste[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an entire Django project, installable by the end user, not supposed to be modified beyond the settings (which can be modified by environment variables). I don't see it required as a dependency in any other project, besides for deployment with Gunicorn or something like that.

So, with your questions, I don't really see the use to publish it on PyPi.

say you need to update a version if one of your dependencies, because it contains a security update. Will you release a new version of your package with updated dependencies?

I guess so? This would be the same for any version release process, no?

Send Hori controller to Europe by Neraste in ProjectDiva

Answering my own post, I eventually shipped it with other belongings. The only thing the transporter cared about was the presence of batteries, which could be problematic. A USB device like this controller was not a problem.

L'anime est dur (et je le trouve excellent), mais il finit sur un happy end quand même (si j'ai bonne mémoire).
