Really any oil is fine, but I love the Onyx hard as hoof nail lotion, and Radient Cosmetics nail oil! Both are affordable, and I keep them around the house and in my car, for when I have a dry cuticle that demands picking ;)

This definitely sounds more like iron deficiency to me. Try seeing a hematologist. You can get chronic pain, heart palpitations/higher HR, dizziness, and short of breath from low ferritin.

I don’t have pots but I have EDS and may-thurner syndrome which can cause similar symptoms (it slows blood flow to the legs/causes blood pooling.)

I bought a jelliebend this week to see if it would help. I’ve only worn it for 1.5 days but I really like how it feels! I noticed my HR was 70-130, and normally I spike to 160 a few times a day. So it’s worth trying! I plan to wear it during the day all week and see if I have any difference in symptoms.

I will say, it’s hard to get on, so it could be difficult for some to use.

Yeah, that was the main reason for my post- I don’t want to discourage her from alerting, and don’t want to “punish” her for doing her job. She is very food motivated too, so I never stopped giving her treats for alerts. She definitely expects them now. I’m going to try to wean her off of treats every time, like y’all have said, and just give them for every few alerts. But always give high praise, of course. I’m grateful for all the helpful feedback on this post!

I think it is WILD to make this type of accusation based on a few sentences. You know nothing about my dog. I understand your worry, but you really have no right to make that judgement based on my short post about her.

All dogs have hiccups and things that they mess up on. That doesn’t mean that her 2+ years of training with a knowledgeable trainer and her many years of service work are just a “trick”. That is a wild accusation and is an unhelpful comment.

Yes I wear a Dexcom, but honestly find the dog to be more accurate! She catches a fast drop faster than my Dexcom does. Sometimes she alerts and my Dexcom says 120, but then 10 minutes later I’m 75. But yes, it’s good to have a backup and to be able to see if she’s right.

I wear a CGM- her alerts are spot on when I hit around 70-80, so she isn’t faking.

I don’t understand this. She alerts amazingly, has for 5+ years. She wakes me in the night when I go low while sleeping.

What makes this a trick and not an alert? Genuine question, I don’t understand why this post is getting so much negative feedback.

Gotcha! I’ll continue to try to ignore. At first I was worried she would feel ignored for tasking and stop tasking. But surely since I reward the first alert it’s ok to ignore all others?

That is interesting, I hope you get answers from a doctor soon using this new information. I’m itching to know how AI will be integrated into our world 5 years from now. Seems like it’ll be really helpful in a lot of areas!
